New Jeep Gun

Sorry. but I don't see one thing I like about that rifle. The gun is ugly, the scope mount is "iffy", the bipod is heavy and cumbersome, the mag makes it hard to carry at that location, not to mention the brake.

You would have been far better off to buy a 760 in 308 cut the bbl to 20" and mount a low powered scope on that.

Big pass here.

Glad that there is one person here that knows what a scout rifle or truck gun is. I agree with SuperCub that if you throw around these labels at lease try to make something that makes sense. If the title was "I don't care why a scout rifle is called a scout rifle or why a truck gun is called a truck gun and this is what I am going to call my gun" then have at her but if you are serious then you have to lose the brake, lose the bipod, throw a sling on and co witness... simple.

That's too bad for you folks. I know there are many in Alta and BC that snub the pump guns preferring bolt actions which is another fine choice. Are your shotguns bolt action as well? :)

I doubt there are many guns better than the gun shown for a truck/ATV/Jeep gun. Adding a low powered scope is never a bad idea. I plan on doing that myself.

We aren't snubbing pump guns, we are snubbing you :)

I can think of many better truck guns for my purposes than an iron sighted pump action with a 18/20?" barrel.

Holy cow is this thread still going? Totally forgot about it.

The bipod was only on there for pictures to hold it upright. It's not staying on the gun. Scope has so far worked wonders and held zero. I took the cheek riser off and put on a removable cheek rest so I can use the irons. Mag was replaced with a five round polymer magazine.

Not allowed to make like of Chrysler product owners; ask me how I know.

. We can all agree that jeep owners are monsters :dancingbanana:

I saw a Land cruiser the other day that said " jeep recovery vehicle" on the back. Made me think of this thread

I've only owned Suzuki units for doing off-road pokin' about. Most of the 4x4's offered in North America be far too big and expensive to buy and operate in my zone.

I'd have a ball using a unit like this build on a Samurai chassis but with different wheels & paint color.

I wish they would bring back the ultracompact SUV. With modern materials they would be light and the offloading market is clearly interested in then if what samurais/sidekicks/trackers etc are going for is any indication
