New MDT stock coming. XRS

Ordered mine this morning with a couple poly mags but the mags are back ordered so hopefully I don’t have to wait too long for those. I’m excited to do a side by side with the KRG Bravo. Hope I like it just as much as would prefer to buy Canadian

how does it fit for folks with short hands, women, youth, midgets and so on, just asking for a relative who
May like one of these if it fits or might fit

Is there any difference in the magazines?

Not with Tikka mags, since they shim them for the SA cartridges.

However, and I didn't think about this (and I should have) is that the MDT mags are designed for use with AICS pattern mags. So if you want to use a long action in the Tikka with an MDT, the MDT needs to be inletted/designed to take the long action AICS pattern mags.

I don't see an option for that on MDT's site, perhaps an MDT rep can clarify.

Looks like a cool stock, hopefully not too expensive.

The one thing that catches my eye as a possible negative is the over sized paddle to remove the mag. I would prefer a wide add on that would be my choice to use or not, but more narrow in its basic form.

I can recall shooting side ways from some stacked plastic tubes last year and the ridges in the tubes stripped the floor plate off my mag under recoil.... Not once, but twice in the same stage... bullets falling out everywhere. Not pretty.

Those big paddles look like mags about to fall out.

Even with my factory Stealth chassis, I almost lost the mag several times while hiking in the hills. Having a swappable hidden or flush mag release would be nice for non PRS shooters.

The question should be, HOW MANY do you want to order?

Pricing is up to date on the website - https://mdttac.com/ca_en/xrs-chassis-system.html

There is the link to the price.

Surely the mag. release could be altered if necessary...

Is there a time frame for the new 110 model savages?

Not quite yet, make sure to sign up for the newsletter to be kept up to date with all XRS news.

I wonder if the acc mirage hood will fit this?

It will not unfortunately.

Hard to say, it really depends on how short they need to go. With all the spacers removed and the standard grip panel, it should fit smaller framed people well.

Is there any difference in the magazines?

Yes, on a short action we move the magazine well forward and use a standard short action AICS magazine. On the long action, the magazine well is extended rearward and we use our 3.56" magazine.
