New or old, what's in your safe?

1918 Lee Enfield 303
1980 Remington Wingmaster
2007 Stevens 30-06

Still need to add a 30-30. Gave my little brother my 410 hinge. With the three I have, I can pretty much hunt what ever I want.

Cheers
Brent

1943 Long Branch L.E. is my oldest.. Next would be my Stevens 87D, though I'm not sure when it was made. My uncle did shoot his first deer with it, and that would be in the late 50's. My 550-1 is about the same age. Newest is a 700 SPS Varminter .223 that I picked up this spring, Marlin 917V that I picked up last spring, 700 BDL in .35 Whelen (2003 I think) and my .270 BAR is 1990. Also, Winchester 2400 and Browning 20g BPS, both of which I'm unsure of the date of manufacture. And my sister found a Cooie single shot in the garage of her new place. My Dad's in the process of cleaning it up, since it's collected quite a bit of rust.
Nothing too crazy, rare and whatnot, but I've done alright with them and I wouldn't trade them for anything in the world.

I would love a wood steyr. It has that traditional look with fine quality. It is odd how each individual has different interests. I have ordered a few sharps and have a few rifles but am gravitating to a Styr when i dont need it lol. I have a tendency to give old guns and puters and cars away.
I have failed....:(

You're right Ike. Heck, if I could afford it I would do like you with the 710's and built my yard fence out of them. I hear those plastic stocks and silver barrels really hold up well in the inclement weather. Plus burried stock down the frost cant push them out as easy.:stirthepot2:

Sure your 303 counts. The 50 Sharps would be a great one as well!:)
All kidding aside I had a long spell of using more modern rifles. After getting treated very poorly by Winchester I had enough of giving them my money. Ruger wasn't much better.
Eventually I wandered back to what I enjoyed more. I am happy there are lots of folks content to use new arms. It keeps food on the table for many a deserving family in the industry. Now if only they'd learn customer service they might have return customers.

whats in the safe???

a few years ago I started on a campaign of only keeping what i would use for hunting but for some reason i have become a lever gun fan, I also have a penchant for old classic cartridges. Hence my collection ranges from a a savage 23d in 22 hornet to a marlin 1895 guide gun in 45/70 to a savage 99 in 300 savage.
