Makarov MP442 from Baikal website:

My invoice from Teapot calls it a Makarov MP442, but I'm hoping it looks more like the Makarov PM model ;)

Baikal also makes the MP-71 Makarove, which would be ok:

The MP-71 is the export model of the Makarov PM in .380 and the MP-71H is the same gun in a hi-cap 12 round version.

Baikal also makes this garish "thing"...

Good job Claven I never thought to search the Baikal website:redface:. I like the 442 myself (looks like a PMM?) but I'd be happy with any...Except that last one.

The 442 model on the picture is "high capacity" - 12 rounds version. We ordered original 8 rounders. Yours will be more like pictured IZH-71 (new name MP-71).

Any chance of getting some 10 rounders in the future? I'd be most interested in that, personally.

Just picked up a couple boxes of ammo from SFRC. Sweet. About $18 per box isn't terrible - about the same price as 9mm para.

Now if only someone would bring in cheap surplus...

I haven't held a Makarov in over 20 years, can anybody tell me how it feels in the hand for a big-mitted lefty? Are the grips comfortable? Thank you kindly. :)

Medium feel, single stack. There are Hogue rubber grips and slip ons to beef it up.

Hogue makes a handall slip-on.

Pearce also makes awesome rubber replacement grips, but they don't ship to Canada :(

How does it compare to a single stack 1911 for those of us with girly sized hands? Considering the size of the cartridge and the overall small size of the frame it should be good for me, but confirmation would be nice. Are there any nice wood grips available?

I'll be needing one for sure...who sells em?

TeaPot2, the OP of this thread. First batch is coming in August, second in September (I think it was).
