PM. I can ask for couple PMM as well but the idea was to bring cold war time pistol as it was (except for the stupid barrel)

we are working on getting 9x18 Mak ammo also...

Sounds good. There seems to be a lot of interest in the Makarov's hopefully everything will work out and we'll get to see them in restricted status.

I'd be very interested in a PMM copy. Would likely take a couple if extra mags were available.

Just wondering, is there no chance of this pistol coming in 9mm? I know it would lose some "mystique" but ammo would be easier to get. I know this may be a little too blasphemous but just thinking out loud.

Not a chance. Baikal or Izmash aren't going to retool for a longer grip body.

I'm hoping the bbl's will be threaded, but this is the length we are talking about for reference. This one is threaded with a thread protector on the bbl:

I've read that the 9x19mm round is too powerful for the Makarov frame.

It would require a tilt lock barrel in such a small pistol frame and the Makarov's barrel is fixed into position.

they dont look so bad
the threaded barrel extending looks good!

9x18 is the highest pressure you can use in a straight blowback

As far as pistols go it's one of the hotter rounds suitable for a blowback design. I think the gun would lose some of it's charm if it were chambered for vanilla cartridge like the 9X19...

i'd love a mak.

If they're going to build them from scratch, i'd really love it if they would make them da only (while keeping the hammer) and get rid of the safety/decocker on the left side of the slide.

An ambi-dexterous mag release beside the trigger guard would be nice too.:)

oh yeah, and novak low mount, tritium night sights.:d

lol :d

Would this have to jump through all the FRT hoops? You know, the delay while an army of RCMP techs strive to make it full auto.

No. The only thing making a Mak prohib is the barrel length. There are a good many Mak's already registered in Canada from when you could easily export longer barrels from the US. FRT number already exists for the restricted version.
