There are plenty of contacts in China. We can't discount the possibility somebody would try. They retailed Toks for $99. The blowback barrel is pretty straightforward.

Fair enough. To be honest through, I'd rather pay more for a Russian than own a Chinese one. Much like I pay $200+ for a TT made in Russian instead of $99 for a Chinese one.

Dang!

Yep, if I have the money then, I think I might just be interested in one of these! Restricted of course, not sure which caliber I'd want...thinking .380 and just get reloading components...9x18mm might get hard to find after a while, even if surplus comes in for a few years. If the cartridge was more available in Canada I'd consider the original chambering.

OR...is swapping calibers as simple as swapping the barrel? And is the barrel press fit using a 5 ton press, or is it more easily changed out than an armory-level change?

Between these questions and having money available, I am interested in one of these. I hear they are VERY reliable/dependable (Russian guns seem to be that way), and really accurate due to the fixed barrel.

except its REALLY easy to make 9mm mak brass from commonly available 9mm luger brass, you cant do that for a 380.

i'll consider a russian one but would definately pass on one from china.

I tend to agree. But price is a factor and so is availability of cheap ammo. To me this is a novelty. I mean blowbacks are not exactly fun to shoot - they snap horribly.

snap, yes. But blowbacks are also capable of better accuracy than a tilting bbl design. Of course actual performance will vary from firearm to firearm, hard to generalize.

If its around the $475 mark with a threaded barrel and spare mags avaliable I am in for sure. I have always wanted a ppk or similar, and this would stop that itch (for now). Keep us posted.

Any more info Teapot?

Any update?

I'm afraid this is vapourware just like the LCP we were teased with last year. 164 people responded to the poll; how many would put money down? :stirthepot2:

Aha! Some people do know something about them! Thanks for sharing...

Everything is on schedule. First batch coming in both calibers May-June. The delivery time depends on paperwork on Russian side. It takes them up to 45 days. First two weeks in May are holidays in Russia. It may cause the delay. Target price is $450 if our dollar will stay strong. Thanks to everybody for inspiring the project.
