$450 for a neat little pistol NOT made in China? Sounds pretty damn good to me. Will you be bringing in spare mags?

Made in Russia by Baikal. Spare mags will come within second shipment.

$450 is not too bad! Do you have pic of what the gun with the extended barrel looks like?

not yet, but it will look like this minus can ;)

too would love a genuine Russian Makarov, brand new in 9x19mmNATO/Parabellum/Luger...actually I'd like that more than either 9x18Mak or .380acp! So if a factory made 9mmNATO chambered Mak can be sold here for reasonable coin, that would be a definite buy for me! I think it's probably a long shot though.

I used to have a Mak in 9mm Makarov. I used to reload for it also. The .380 case is 9x17 , the Mak case is 9x18 and regular 9mm is 9x19
.
The .380 & the 9mm Nato/Luger has a .356 head, but the Mak uses a .362 head. You can cut 9x19 brass down to 9x18 fairly easily & use it but the heads are hard to find.
The Mak pistol is a blowback action & cannot handle high pressures. When the Russians designed the gun they felt that the 9mm Mak cartridge was the hottest the gun would handle.

Russian ammo tends to be cheaper. I guess the answer is no?
Only surplus is cheaper, Russian new production is about same price. $19 for box of 50 is not that bad. Lots of people buying Nagant revolvers knowing that the ammo is scarce and cost minimum $45 per 50 rounds. Don't have a source for surplus...China has manufactured Mak ammo, that should be cheap. I'm sure once we have a demand for ammo somebody will bring it, just like the Tokarev ammo situation.
Awesomeeee. Thanks TeaPot...when will you be taking pre-orders? :p
...when the ship loaded with Maks will get closer to our shores :D sometime in May...

I'm certainly interested in a Makarov, in either calibre (or possibly both...).

I almost bought a Makarov back in 1992 for only $150, but foolishly did not. I have regretted that decision ever since, to this day.

As a dealer I'd be interested in both but my preference would be one in 380. It's easier for me to source 380 ammo and there is a wider selection of ammo available in 380.

What are the chances of you bringing in some JHP ammo to coincide with the release of the Makarovs?
