New Ruger No. 1's for 2024

Damn you guys!

retrieved the 303 today.... loaded 30 rounds up last night.

tent , back pack, food, binos... rifle... check
poi - checked.

catch you guys tomorow night --- im goin single shot huntin for an over night trek up behind some private land nearby

One of my 303’s been to the range a few times & on one unsuccessful hunt. The other still has the tags hanging on it. Consecutive numbers keep me from selling them. Probably go down to my grand nephews in Texas, who by accounts of my nephew are hounds for whitetail hunting LOL!

Cool idea. Be interesting to see how they hold together with shoulder shots on muley's and black bear. The fast 1 in 10" twist in your No.1 is geared
towards the 250 gr Hornady loads. I run Cast Performance 360gr WLNGC boolits at 1600 fps from my Ruger American Ranch with 16" barrel with
1 in 16" twist . Accurate and with deep penetration for big critters.
No fear on those Barnes TEZ. I’ve shot the 290s up to 2650fps and the 250s well past that in a custom smokeless muzzle loader as well as the 195s in .40 up to 2900fps.

Shoulders and hard raking shots on big whites tails are no challenge for those bullets. Never found one yet……

Your wishes for a new No.1 has been granted by someone on GP. It will only set you back $4000. Firm. He knows what he has. I remember in the not too distant past Wholesale Sports would have sales on them for around $1000.

275 rigby,..... beautiful.

i love my 303 but ........ shes beautiful for a misfit.
I had a Ruger #1 Lipsey Special in 275 Rigby - barrel was 2" longer than my 7x57 1A. I could not get my face down low enough on that stock to use the iron sights on the 275 Rigby - but it seemed to work well with a Leupold scope. Another CGN guy has got it now.
