Buy something with quality. I bought a HK SL8 today, Very excited. Excellent sale at SFRC. All stores sell for 2,399 but they have 14 % off and a payment option. That's what I call a black Friday sales price.

I'd rather shoot the rustiest sks in the cheapest polymer stock than thumb wrestle with that fugly monstrosity.

Kinda true about the butt but that can be changed. They did it for the US market, otherwise they would be prohibited. It is the most accurate NR semi automatic you wish you would have bought next year.

It is shorter than a SKS and is the same weight. Shoots well below MOA.

Most Russians right now are grade B. The Chinese last year and the year before were, hmmm rough. But 10/15 years ago most Chinese were minty. You never know what's coming. I would buy one of those but really, I have enough SKS.

not expensive compared to bren $3100 . the M+M m10x, msrp is $2300 which i wouldnt buy.

For those wondering how to determine the age of their Type 56 SKS, simply add 56 to the first 2 numbers of the serial number. For example; 23######x + 56 gives you (19)79.

Actually one needs to use number 55, not 56 to get the production year of one's rifle type 56 (but it doesn't work 100% of times).

Thanks for hinting us some of the traits of your personality in your signaling spree. I was always wondering who could be impressed with the mass murderer and psychopath like Putin.
Difference between the folks who enjoy the expensive toys and those who are buying them to validate themselves is easy to see. Like posting the price without being asked...and talking how much better choice one made than the others...even though the one doesn't even have that toy yet. Pleasure is all mine.

But back to SKSes - I have a line on a Chinese one - it will be my first but the condition seems to be in line with what everyone is reporting...I heard these are surprisingly accurate out of the box.

enefgee aint wrong cos there are two methods on sks websites, weebly or yooper. yooper uses 56 cos thats is when the factory started so i use yoopers.

yup, the number or numbers in million add to 56. 9 mil serial number, would be 1965

Actually, it's 1978. 23 is the 23rd year of production and 1956 was the 1st year of production.
