New shotguns, MAG-FED and SHORTIES - NEW PICS

CanAm, my suggestion for a barrel length is a little different, but it's something that I've personally been wanting to put together for awhile, just haven't had the time, money or parts. So besides the regular 10"(MCS style?),12.5"and 14" I'd offer the following;

Take the longer (5+1) mag tube of the Norinco HP9 hunting versions and have a barrel made flush with the end of that, should end up around 16" or so. Apparently if you replace the express style magazine spring retainer with the older Wingmaster style than it will actually hold 6 rds of 2 3/4" in the tube.

With this set up you can add a folding stock and still be over 26".

While the market might be limited, I suspect a run of replacement barrels for the longer mag tubed Norinco's would sell.

Somebody has got to know if you can change the stock for a Knoxx M4 type.

The Spec-Ops stock collapses. If the OAL is below 26 inches with that particular barrel length, the black letter law is no, you can't install one unless you are prepared to register it as restricted.

Without one in front of me, I suspect you are fine with a 14 inch gun but at 12.5 it's got to be close to minimum.

Mu understanding to this kind of law is that they never chase end user. They only after the dealer.

I think you'd have to call knoxx. They've probably got calls before. They can tell you exactly how much longer the folding stock is when it's collapsed, and from there you can work out barrel length. They might even know the length for a given shotgun barrel already, and you can work your way back.

I remember someone saying you were definately ok with the 14 (can't remember for sure, so don't quote me) - the 12.5 is just 1.5 less than that so you might just get away with it.

Maybe G37 can give you the exact measurement but I believe his 8.5" is around 26.5" collapsed....

edit. My Spec ops is 19 3/8" from the Butt (limbsaver) to the end of the receiver...so about 27 1/4 with an 8.5 "

The Spec ops folder/Breachers grip is 26" with a 12.5 " barrel.....a little to short.
...a permenant sling loop welded to the sling stud might do it.....

You bet they are - I thought the breachers grip was good until my buddy upgraded to the specops... it is amazing the recoil reduction it provides. I plan to use the knoxx M4...when I get the 12.5 I just ordered...woot!:dancingbanana:

Can-down was nice enough to walk me through the Knoxx choices. For a 12.5, get the Knoxx non-collapsing stock. For a Norinco 14, a folder is fine it seems.
