As long as you get the meaning! I joined cgn to try to help the community change some of our ridiculous laws, not to fight with some jack ass on the internet!! Good night Dr.

Didn't see these in the new thread, re-posting for those that haven't seen them yet. .223 versions, but still gives you a good run down and general feel.

Then go buy a valmet.

Some of us want a type 81 because it is what it is, not because it is almost what it isn't.

Type 81 was designed to replace the AK, improve on it's shortfalls. After shooting both I would say the Type 81 succeeded. Not to much surprise though, we are talking about 34 years of technological advancement between the two rifles.

The vz58 was an improvement over the AK as well, but there are those that want their vz to be something that it isn't, or make out the vz to be something less than the AK.

Like the vz, this will happen to the Type 81. People will compare it to the AK, mod it to look like the Ak, all while striving for something less than what their rifle was to begin with.

And that is all fine and good. It is their rifle.

But some of us want the Type 81 because it is a Type 81, and no other reason. Not because it is kinda sorta an AK maybe. That was all I was saying. I wasn't saying it was less than the AK. Far from it.
