The barrel sleeve is probably pressed on. That could suggest that sleeve may not be pressed on and the barrel threaded. The sleeve could be vented as a compensator I suppose. Lots of conjecture here.

Spare parts are essential. I think less so for this design than a CZ or AK, but still good.

WhIle I think of it, is the firing pin free-floating or does it have a spring? The spring prevents slam fires a fair bit.

Probably very little. It would be good to know about the firing pin. I would rather have the LMG barrel because it moves the front sight out for a better radius. I'd like to see a side AK scope mount. If not, an add on scout mount for the rear sight. The side folder is good but a wee short. People will get tired of not having a rubber pad of some sort on either stock. There might be a need for a recoil spring buffer, but the long receiver length probably deals with that. All things considered I predict very little mechanical/warrantee concerns.

I think one thing that makes the T81 a solid choice is the fact the TI offering is from Poly tech. From what I've heard Norinco fire arms are hit or miss; but the quality of Polytech AKs are legendary. Still waiting for some TI responses to some outstanding questions though...lol.

Poly and Noricno are just exporters, not manufacturers. They export from different factories of varying quality

Can you answer some of these TI? Thanks.

1. The finish looks much better on the fixed version than the folding one in those pictures...is that just the picture or is there really a discrepancy between aesthetics with the two offerings?
2. I emailed you guys and I was told that the stock is not removable like an AK or VZ, meaning we are stuck with them for life essentially. How about the side panels of the folding stock? Are they removable? Perhaps Zahal or something will develop tacticool side panels for the folding stock version if that is the case.
3. Is the pistol grip removable?
4. I've seen postings and vids saying the trigger is nice and crisp, but a post on this forum saying it is the same as a vz 58 or sks? Which is it? (Please say the trigger is better than that of an SKS or striker fired VZ)
5. Those ribs on the barrel are for a rifle grenades eh? Does this mean we can buy a dummy rifle grenade and some blank 7.62 X 39s for some lols in the woods?
6. How rigid is the folding stock? It isn't wobbly is it? (not sure if u'd know yet but why not ask)

Not even remotely surprised tactical imports ignores the majority of these "questions"...

The pistol grip is held on by a screw that goes through the grip into a nut inside the reciever exactly like a vz58 and ak, there are pics in other threads on the type 81 showing inside the reciever and what the internals look like. And no the pistol grip attachment will not be afected by newly made semi auto recievers, if they are im a monkey's uncle

They arnt going to do a different finish on the metal depending on what stock is put on.

I realize the thought is strange but I read that the folding stock was produced en mass because it was less expensive in the redstar arms type 81 review. Also just judging from that pic the fixed stock appears to be more lustrous. Any ways, nothing wrong with a question before you shell out 1.3 grand (extra mags) for an unknown Chinese rifle with no legitimate video reviews available.
