Hoping for some after market VZ 58/Fab Defence style pistol grips for these at some point...and a low profile style side mount.
I realize the thought is strange but I read that the folding stock was produced en mass because it was less expensive in the redstar arms type 81 review. Also just judging from that pic the fixed stock appears to be more lustrous. Any ways, nothing wrong with a question before you shell out 1.3 grand (extra mags) for an unknown Chinese rifle with no legitimate video reviews available.
you may, with a little filing, be able to fit vz or ak pistol grips on these. when i had my cz i took a cheap akm pistol grip i bought online and it had to file a tiny bit for it to fit. it looked ugly and felt okay, not great but better than the original cz grip so i removed it. sold the rifle anyway but my point is you may be able to do it as is. i know i will try IF the t81 grip isn't to my liking but looks wise i like how it looks on the rifle so i will probably leave it unless its too tin, thick, slippery or whatever, or i just get bored lol
Lol, sounds like u'r more handy than me comrade. Which R u going for if u don't mind me asking? Folding or fixed ?

I will point out that you've paid for things that don't exist.

LOL! No legitimate videos exist because the actual rifles don't exist yet! You can watch a video of the prototype, a actual full auto Chinese military type 81 or a rare American version. Looks like you have to wait a while for a legitimate video.
That's really impressive Deckard. Must be nice to have the ability to create ur own mods. What are you planning on doing to ur T81 when it lands? Also I wanted to touch base on something else, u raised a concen about free floating firing pins and slam fires. I talked to my buddy about it and he said the SKS platform sometimes has issues with slam firing. Seeing how the T81 is a derivative of the SKS (and Ak), is this a major point of concern for u?I made my CZ grip in that picture from scratch. I'd prefer folding stock solely for one reason: metal is more suitable than wood for a heavy dose of cosmoline when these go into the PVC tubes.![]()

Had my buddies sks slamfire. Took it apart, sure enough rusty as balls in the firing pin channel. On my sks's I blast em out good with break cleaner after each outing. Probably over 1000 rounds fired with no slamfire on mine. I leave the firing pin channels dry with no oil. Less crud that way.
I'm going to turn an LMG type into a Tabuk. The free floating pin is best for hard military primers. Softer commercial primers can be set off. The Chinese switched to spring loaded for certain civvie rifles. I believe it's safer through a range of ammo.
