8 months, TI really jumped the gun by announcing and accepting preorders without knowing when they would even go into production. Its almost time to get a refund and put my money somewhere else.

Yeah like I said, I almost finish my financing but get nothing and paid interest/admin fee for nothing. This is the 1st time I deal with you. Great job TI
I had already cancelled my order, since there is no schedule for production. Looks like we will need to wait a long time to see them in Canada.

Has there been any new updates or are they still not actually in production yet? Is it still expected to arrive this "winter"?

Yes sir......you will have this in your hands winter 2017 (March 2017 absolute latest according to TI) not sure why every ones so upset this is only 4 months away! Can't wait!

If Trump is true to his word, such as it is, he wants more jobs and manufacturing in the U.S. So it's doubtful he will let China dump cheap knockoff firearms into the U.S. Market when some of the American factories are already having problems!

I think we need to stop pretending that Trump is pragmatic, predictable, or even stable in anyway. As far as we're concerned, his getting elected probably isn't going to affect this particular order...at all. Let's just collectively hope TI will see value in keeping us informed to prevent more cancellations.

At the time the per-orders were offered, the schedule was set. Pr-orders were voluntary. The schedule was pushed by the factory.

So he got screwed by the factory, he said that there is no tentative date for delivery and offered refunds.

What more can you ask from a retailer in this situation?

Exactly. It wasn't a foreseen thing that these would be pushed back. I happily and voluntarily placed my preorder and am waiting patiently for it to arrive. There may come a day when the waiting will be too much and I may cancel my preorder, but that day is not today, nor anytime soon.

Lesson learned I'm sure, no more pre-orders until it's verified that production has started? I'm also pretty sure they were just as excited to be offering this rifle as everyone was to buy it. It's all been a shame.

They were in too much of a hurry to announce the pre-order. If they are in fact the only company bringing in these rifles, there is no reason to take pre-orders so early without actually knowing they are in production.

Agreed, cancelled my 2 rifle order, one fixed and one folding stock with 10 mag. Don't want to wait anymore...

Seems they're losing pre-orders left right and center due to lack of progress/updates.

ANY news from the factory? Previously we were told everything was on schedule for the fall delivery hence no updates and to be patient - Then at the last minute we were told the order was bumped to winter; now we're being told to expect them this winter and to be patient... So is there ANYTHING you can tell us? Snow's falling in my area which makes me think of winter, which makes me think of my type 81 so any updates, info, pictures would suffice to stop you from hemorrhaging money from cancelled pre-orders.

Yup exactly. People who can't wait a few more months obviously haven't ever had to pre order a rifle before.

I once waited 9 months for a sponsor dealer to import me "parts" into our country!!!!!

The fact remains that people aren't patience for this yet it is out of TI's hands as to when the chinese want to start production.

You want to bow out, all the power to you BUT for me considering I have already paid in full on my CC and paid off my balance for this on my CC is like nothing now.

I can wait as long as it takes (hopefully) not too much longer.

I guess patience is still a virtue among us

Think we'll see these before the new UN marking becomes mandatory in june?

Won't matter. China has been marking their firearms in accordance with the UN treaty for a while now. The last couple of Norinco firearms that I bought are marked something like: CH CA 2016. They will just mark them when they apply the other markings. Contrary to the assertions by the some of the firearms advocacy who claimed that was illegal, there is nothing in he regulation to stop the exporter from marking them prior to export.
