If there is no substantial update by Oct 1, I will cancel my order.
For me the lack of proper communication speaks a lot about the business itself.
This is a firearm new to Canada being imported for the first time. You're not ordering a Big Mac and fries. If you dont have the stomach for it, step off. I'm in to the end because I really want one of these firearms.

I would hazard a guess that they will have no problem selling your rifle, even if the shipment is 6 months late.:)

Because people are being informed as things change. In detail.

With regards to the Type 81, there is information/rumours floating around which would seem to indicate very clearly that this gun will be delayed. I'm asking specific questions directly of TI to determine if the rumours I've heard are legitimate or not.

Hence why I ask if production has started or if shipping is underway. I doubt very much TI has only been told by Polytech "hey TI, there are no updates" as I'm sure TI would want a more specific answer than that after sending Polytech money. TI would probably like an answer that is more specific.

When TI initially announced they were trying to get this gun to Canada, they said they expected it in Q4 of 2012.

*sigh. This.

How come? It's not like they still have stock left at the end of their delivery window right? :)

There are always some that back out of a pre order if it takes too long. And there are always some who are ready to snap up the cancelled orders. There has rarely been a pre order that actually arrives on time, although it's happened...I would suggest that those that need to look at their phone every 3 minutes to get updated on everything on social media may be poor candidates for pre orders. :)

Funny interpretation of why they haven't sold all. The social media thing was funny too. Regardless, you would have to have an extra chromosome to feel these things will sell out if another 6 months passes; that IS if there isn't a change in communication. I'd like to think most understand the concerns and questions are about transparency, NOT how long they are taking to get here. :)

Guaranteed that once TI announces these have landed in canada the rest will be sold.....they are only getting 500 folders and 500 fixed.....maybe a few extras for them to hold onto for god forbid parts replacement....get in on the pre order or risk the gamble the day they arrive to get one somethings like this come in once and never again....these could be the only 1000 in canada we ever see

Yeh, I can totally agree with that. Once they land the mystery and concerns are over (unless they are somehow flawed from the factory). My position is all the preorders would be gone now if we were kept in the loop more, that's all. I really hate the idea of these being the only 1000. I've talked to two other vendors and they say they will get it eventually. I'll be really sour if imports get banned or something.

I doubt it. If TI posted comments as soon as every little thing happened...

- the barrel blanks arrived at the factory today
- the furniture is being attached to the receivers today
- the rifles are being inspected and test fired today
- the rifles are being crated for shipping today
- Wing-Chu, the shipping foreman, took a dump this afternoon, nice and firm!
- the ship with the rifles left port today
- etc., etc., etc...

...it wouldn't make that much of a difference. If there are still some available now, there would still be some available then...

i hear ya on that if i knew more id have already bout a second...maybe a 3rd and with the way this country is and imports get banned or something its anyones guess and i could totally see that given how the government is run here.....load up on every non restricted you can...and even multiples (my issue) 2 of everything i like lol...the day they land TI will be sold out cut and dry

*sigh. But they are already late and customers are entitled to regular updates.

These, on the other hand, are reported to be on track for an on-time delivery.

If the delivery date is missed, then people should be expecting updates.

If they aren't even built yet, and TI is aware of this, but failed to update as such, then I think we are entitled to an update now, as there is no way they can foreseeably be built and shipped by Q3.

TI has repeatedly stated no updates, which to me seems to imply they themselves have received no specific updates, just what they have been giving us. Which is "they will be on time."

Is that the only update they have received from Polytech when TI has asked Polytech for updates? Polytech saying these will be on time? I would think not. If they are going to be on time, I assume that means that the guns are pretty much finished their trip across the pacific by now, soon to be destined for CBSA fingers.

19 days to the end of Q3. 15 of them business days.

How about something simpler...
- We went to the factory as planned.
- Production has started.
- Product has shipped from China.
- Product has landed at Canada Customs.
- Product is at our warehouse.
- Product is being shipped to you.

Since my money has been in TI's hands, not one of the above key points in delivery of the stated product has been address. The only updates this project has had are...
- We have submitted a sample to the lab.
- We have a R and NR FRT entry successfully obtained.
- We would like you to pay in advance for a gun planned for delivery in 2016 Q3.
- Everything is ok. Things are going as planned. Nothing to say or see here.

I've heard more from outside sources that I have from TI. And what I'm hearing is leading me to have serious doubts.

I was thinking more along the lines of factory progress updates every two months or so. There are two weeks left in Q3, why do people fight for their right to be kept in the dark on this thread? They said they were going to do a factory visit and an accuracy display etc. Those two things would be greatly appreciated I'm sure. No one has said anything about wanting an inconsequential twitter feed.

For all we know, TI is in China right now, hence the lack of communication. But you have no reason, at least that I've seen so far, to fear these being late.

But again, if this is so important to you, and judging from all your comments thus far it is, why haven't you tried contacting TI?

The guy you were replying to said there would be no problem in selling all the rifles once they were here (even if they arrived 6 months late).

You asked; "How come?"

I replied...

He said something like 6 months late, I stated once they landed they would be gone. My position, like I also said, is all preorders would be gone now if there was more transparency, that's why I commented on that.
