If I had the cash it would be sold already. Looks like a fun toy and I do have a 12.5" Rem 870 that is non-restricted already. Wicked toy for the range! Maybe we can get a run of new 14" or 12.5" barrels for the REM 1100's for those who want to play with a fast handling 12ga.:p

I hear what you're saying, but I see it more like an AR. $1200 - $3000 is a lot to pay for a varmint calibre rifle that you can only shoot at a range and will never shoot a varmint with. But they sure are fun to own and shoot when you can!

yeah but your not seeing the point. for 4 more inches and a couple hundred dollars less, you can get the same shotgun and take it wherever the hell you want. 4 inches only matters in a marriage

I think I have an idea to tame all this infighting, maybe satisfy both sides. :D Call it the "Fudds 'n Tacs Agreement". --

If you owned both, the Benelli M4S90 w/ 18.5" barrel (non-restricted) and the new M4 w/ 14" barrel (restricted) and you relocated the barrel ring on the 18.5" to the position found on the 14", and reduced the length of the mag tube, you would be able to use your 14" barrel on your non-restricted M4S90 out in the field legally for a whole 30 days before having to inform CFC of a classification change. Rinse and repeat.

No, you're not seeing the point. I have the M4S90 with the 18.5" barrel. It is a fantastic shotgun. I can wander the woods with it, transport it on a path that is not "reasonably direct" to the range", try to kill geese/deer/bear/squirrels etc.

I still want the 14" version. I take my AR and pistols to the range regularly. This one would be a lot of *fun* to take too.

Most of us don't need guns at all. If you worked overtime on hunting day instead of driving to some forest and bought low end hamburger at walmart instead of gas and bullets even fridge fillers would come out ahead.

People who have money left over after food, clothing and a roof can do whatever they want with it. Cars that go 300 kph when the max is 110. Houses that could fit 20 people when there are only 4 in the house. Trips to Bali when the KOA campground nearby has spots. They don't spend it on what you want to do with it, they spend it on what *they* want to do with it.

For voicing a negative opinion I get called a "FUDD". .

Actually truth be told.
You were not called a Fudd for a negative comment.

you WERE called a Fudd for your rather fuddish comment.

If you do not want to be called a Fudd then perhaps you shoudl not make such comments or even better make them more explicit as to be non Fuddish.

I think the comment you meant to make was to be snobbish not fuddish,

Nobody has managed to answer my question yet....so I'll ask it again:

Why is it that the handgun/black rifle/tactical guys never go into a thread on O/U's or levers and stir s**t up, yet the fudd types feel somehow justified in making an appearance in every non-hunting firearm thread just to tell us all how stupid these guns are?

I don't get it....I thought the tacticool types were the problem.......;)

Better yet - what ever happened to the concept that it's buddy's money and he doesn't need some stranger's blessing to spend it as he wants?
