NICK KAIKKONEN of Vulcan Gun Refinishing parkerising review (pics are up!!!)

holy sh%t, ya those do look good, did he do the wood as well for you??

Heres a pic from my first post on page 1, the markings on this piece from my bren are hand scribed, have a look at his sand blasting technique as well.

Nothing was removed, most people you take it to use a harsh media for all parts and destroy most of your cartouches/markings, he actually enhanced it. After he blasted and parked this piece remains untouched.

Amazing work, never seen anything like it.

Also look at the colour, instead of the common light grey you see everywhere these days, his is actually a nice dark grey, and he does not use dyes or do the cheap diesel oil dip afterwards.

Its just perfect technique and application.

I live in the toronto area and have no issue driving to windsor to have him work on my stuff. Its allways worth it.

Sav 99 wood was finished/refinished by me. The pics are very kind to my workmanship! It remains to be seen how well the wood finish will stand up to the elements!
These were my first attempts at "wood projects". The rifle in the bottom of the photo from what I can tell is a 99A. I did a refinish only on the forend of that one. The buttstock came semi-inletted from Mr.Wilson in Harris, SK. The rifle in the top half of the pic is a 99H that I purchased from a fellow CGN Savage fan as a parts/project gun. The wood for that one came semi-inletted and unfinished from down south. When I do my next one, I will deal with Mr.Wilson as I found his wood a lot easier to work with, especially the initial metal to wood fit. Regards, MC

Nick is a true artist.

I just got back a Remington Rand basket case gun that I brought in pieces.
He worked out every last pit in that ugly duckling and now it is mint, looks arsenal stored for 65 years.

He also parked a Dlask commander that I built from scratch.

I have sent three basket case/mixmaster 1911's to Nick now, they all come back looking mint. I am not advocating refinishing WW2 stuff unless it is rough or a mixmaster.

Hey is currently working on a Garand in 308 that is my shooter and I have a VERY ROUGH Colt going in next. This Colt is going to be a real challenge!

I think I,m going to send him my M2HB, it was found in the atlantic so its rusted all to hell.

Can anyone think of any more ways we can spread the word of his work at all. I'd love to get him some more bussiness.

Nick wants to put together a website and probably become a dealer here as well. We also have a few "super secret" projects on the go as well.

I will dig out a few samples of his work and take some shots tomorrow.

So, did you pull the trigger and get the Big .50 done?:D

I do alot of stuff myself but I think I have to take this to nick.

Anyhow, I want him to park this in a light grey I think, it should hide the pitting a bit more I think. I wonder if he can remove the pitting from something that sat in the atlantic for 60+years. I,m guessing yes.

Anyhow its a work in progress but I think its got to go to nick. I can only do so much.

Heres some before and afters
