My bad, I guess it's Provincial (Alberta) legislation... And although it's only found in the hunting regulations, it's still illegal to discharge a firearm more than 30 minutes after sunset here in Alberta...
Indoor ranges close after sunset?

Hot dawg, are we resurrecting this thread? Geologist I love that ghetto FLIR setup. I miss my little 10-22
There's a little "ghetto" in all of us, excepting Caramel of course.
Funny... Nobody has mentioned it's illegal to discharge a firearm 30 minutes after sunset.

Better post up the law on that. If it's only in the hunting regs then its only for hunting season.
Then do you keep your shotguns plugged to 2 rounds? My understanding is that in AB the hunting regs double as the provincial firearms regs.
In BC, our hunting regulations state you must not hunt more than 60 minutes past sunset
However, there is no restriction on shooting at night
Maybe you should buy a clip-on PVS-30 then, I know somewhere we could shoot long range at night![]()
I do lovvvve night vision threads!
My binos have been in for a while, and man are they fun to run with! The Modern Varmint is for light plinking, the Stag is for when the paper will not stay ded!

The Surefre light turns the night into day when I hear something go bump outside at night. The 870 DM is fast to load and with different loads in different mags, offers the option of slugs, buckshot or smaller shot.
Not that I'm opposed to Night Vision fun shooting, of course.![]()
