No shotgun

So Rob, what did you get?

It has been interesting reading this thread and learning more about shotguns, as I too am an upland bird hunter.
I am very fond of the 28 ga, but also like the 20 ga. (My current shotguns are semis)
I have had a Browning BSS straight grip in 20 ga w/ 26 barrels; never should have sold it.
I have also had a FAIR Iside in 28 ga. As a lefty the cast off didn't fit me well and I sold it.
I'm thinking of a CZ Bobwhite G2 Southpaw in 20 ga, but have never seen one to be able to handle and shoulder to see if it will fit me.

On another forum I frequent, there has been a lot of talk about the virtues of the Stoeger Uplander in 20 ga (but not a double trigger), and the SKB for less expensive sxs shotguns that handle and perform well.

That Savage Fox A Grade pictured above is a beautiful shotgun! And I have seen the one listed on GP...just don't have the funds for that at this time! (Plus I have no idea about the cast of the stock on them for a lefty!?!?)

Apparently there is a place stateside that will bend a stock for $150...supposed to be a worthwhile investment.

I have plenty of rifles, but I don't own a shotgun, although I have owned a few in the past. All were SXS doubles. I've never fired an o/u. The one I could consistently hit with (mostly pigeons, often doubles) was a Sauer. I've never shot trap/skeet. I'd like to have a shotgun, but just one. Not interested in waterfowl. It would be used for upland game, rabbits, etc. Any suggestions?
870 safe bet

How does it shoot? Looks well build, like a tank thats quite the lock up system. Very cool 👍🏼
With that massive lock-up, it looks a bit bulky but it isn't...it is very well balanced, weighs less than 7lb. and swings nicely...full and modified....front trigger shoots top barrel and rear trigger shoots bottom and then top with a second pull...made in 1969 and still in excellent condition.

The neat feature about Brno ZH guns - they are designed to easily accommodate another barrel set. You can go to another set of shotgun barrels with different chokes, or a combination barrel with one rifle barrel (7x57R or 22 Hi Power) and one shotgun barrel. Makes most of the Turkish guns look pretty lame, given their cost.

Years ago, I tried the same gun with a combo set of barrels...308 win. and 12 g. Didn't like it...heavier and didn't have the liveliness of a shotgun nor the accuracy of a rifle...instead, the worst of both worlds....like a motorcycle sidecar rig.

I don't know anything about the cost of Turkish guns, but this shotgun is in excellent shape and did not cost much.
