Non-restricted firearms registration for Quebec customer

The truth, as I see it, is nobody knows if you still need to register lg in quebec or if it is a voluntary system following the appeal court decision. I do not see in their decision where it references the injunction. If quebec appeals the injunction stands until the Supreme Court of Canada decides to either accept and listen to arguments (God I hope not) or quashes this whole thing. Did they appeal or did they just say they would? How long do we need to find out the Supreme courts decision? Where can we find out since it is not in any news stories these past few weeks? I called the CFO two days ago and they stated we still need to register as they are proceeding from the April decision and no change since the appeal court decision in June. Based on that information the Dealer IS PROBABLY DOING THE INTELLIGENT THING. FYI I live in quebec and this is really confusing and there are no straight answers anywhere.

Ya, because John was making so much sense....f:P:

I had no problem whatsoever understanding him. What is your dysfunction?

How about you show me where he stated his policy before post 165 then smartmouth...

Ah yes...name calling. A true sign of intelligence. I am not wasting my time on you. You have comprehension issues that only a professional can help you with.

Going out on a limb here for John; but I take it he's still completing his legal task to contact CFC when he's selling firearms over the internet to verify validity of said card holders license. Just a shot in the dark here; but did none of you take into account that the CFC would use that information to REGISTER the gun?

No.

You know why?

Because if you had thought about it for a little more than half a second, you'd have realized that checking someone's license doesn't involve stating ANYTHING to the CFC about a specific firearm that this person may be interested in buying.

So yeah, maybe you shouldn't shoot in the dark like that.

Being unable in 17 of post to answer rather simple questions, speaking about "the law" without mentioning ANY text, recommendations or guidelines (up until late), having an obviously bogus interpretation of the law[0]. Do you want more ?

You are complaining about "name calling", but you are doing the same...

[0]: ie. John, I'd still be interested to see which text said (during the injunction validity) that NON-QUEBEC business sellers HAVE TO register for QUEBEC buyers. Though, given your track record, you are likely to answer sideline once again...

Since you are so intelligent, please point me to the post where John stated what their policy was prior to post 165. You can't because he never did. so STFU

and I called you a smartmouth because you keep flapping your lips, but can't answer the question any better than John answered the questions he was asked. No wonder you understand him perfectly.

Some of you out there are very patient, on the other hand you must realize that trying to have a battle of with some is like combat with an unarmed advisary

John

FAIL!

I believe it is comments like those that are simply exacerbating the whole situation. There hasn't been a whole lot of intelligent banter from either side on this topic. Just my two bits...

What is with the insults?

The OP asked you a straight forward question with regards to Marstar's policy and you danced around the question... He eventually changed the terms of the question sort of and then you responded to his questions and satisfied him. I then simply asked you to clarify your answer in order to clarify what Marstar's position was. You did not immediately respond to that since you were busy flaming other's posts. You finally responded to my question somewhat rudely and I thanked you for your response. Now you are back to hurling insults.

Like I stated earlier, if you had responded to simple questions with simple answers, this thread would have ended long before I got sucked into it.. But instead you got your panties in a bunch and apparently things are still wedged way up there.

John thinks he is the only one in Canada to understand the law, all others are ill informed, and he is the only one to follow the law, all other businesses should have been prosecuted. They did not follow the law at that time when nobody else registered non-restricted firearms.

thank you John to be the only one informed and law abiding dealer in Canada

Well I normally don't participate in these threads but where did he say any of that?

I think you owe the man an apology.

So I just purchasedand received a NR from Marstar....I have not informed anyone yet as to it's existence in Quebec...I am waiting for the SC ruling...can anything happen to me in the meantime?
As a matter of fact has anyone ever been convicted of not registering a NR in Quebec to date...if not...why worry?

I think some people jumped to conclusions prematurely...but the fact remains that he danced around the question and seemed frustrated in his responses..though I am uncertain why. ...
In any event I think everyone's questions have been answered...at least in regards to the Quebec registrations

No...one member had some guns that were siezed by the police(including two that were not registered)on a different matter and then returned to him including two that were not registered. No issues with the unregistered guns.
There is apparently a requirement to register(we thinks), but no time limit to do so and no penalty for not doing so.
