Troll or no Troll, I find something objectionable to this thread and the OPs questions. My decision to purchase a firearm would never be so tightly wrapped in political/ideological factors such as "nerfed", "used the way it was designed" etc. Function for the way I will use it always wins.
A few thoughts.
1. The firearm exists, therefore it was designed and built, that way.
2. If you are some kind of purest who wants an "as fielded" firearm, then why all the talk of modification. Why turn your nose up at the Timberwolf as suggested. You can get it out of the box as fielded with the exact same accessories even. Oh wait, no supressor, I guess its "nerfed".
3. And this one is my favourite. OP claims "I also am not interested in the hassle of a restricted weapon. I want something I can bring around with me and enjoy, not just show off in my basement, so I really want a non restricted rifle.. So you want to show off the firearm in...public? You want to spend thousands of dollars on a precision/tactical rifle that you will show off to people and then store in your car? Apparently you are from Toronto, so yeah, thats probably a good idea...
In a later post, you claim that you want non-restricted so that you can actually use it. Just what exactly is un-usable about a restricted firearm? Or more importantly, what is your intended use for this firearm, asides from carrying it around and showing it to people?
4. You have a hard time figuring out what is restricted/non-restricted. Don't worry, the guy selling you the firearm knows.
And I just noticed the OP has been banned...Not surprised. If you're out there trolling by a different name, I hope you take note:
By your own admission you took your RPAL, but have forgotten/ignored much of what was on the course. You have just dealt with garden variety hunting rifles and not really even paid that much attention to them...
I find your attitude careless and your intentions suspect. I believe in your right to own whatever firearms you wish, and for whatever lawful purpose. That said I find I think your desires to own the subject firearm are ill-conceived, and you should take as much as you can from the members of this community in regards to developing a sense of responsible firearms ownership before actually purchasing one.
If you think that was harsh, yeah, it was harsh.
