lots of new 1911 shooters, how many do you think will reload, how many will just burn through the 1000 rnds, pack up their $170 pistol, go back to cheap 9mm.

Once someone goes through a thousand rds. of .45ACP, there will be not turning back to the weeny 9 mil.
It's like going back to a .22LR after shoooting a 9mm, for an extended period. Just no kick to it. (pun intended)
Sorta like going back to beer after a sip of JD.:)

The guy in that video has no idea what he is doing!

One thing you never ever do with a tuned 1911 is drop the slide on an empty gun! It peens the sear engagement surfaces and is just bad etiquette when handling a 1911...... You can tell the fella doing the talking is reading from a script. He has no idea what was done or what he's holding...... It not some unicorn, it's a chineese 1911!

Got an email stating my transfer will be initiated today. For those counting, the transfer is being started 16 days after my order was processed.

Getting closer!!

Holy smokes., b i t ch b i t c h b i t c h , do some of you guys not have better things to do than to sit around all day by your inbox and wait for the shipping notification to come in? Given the deal and the quantity of the order, I half-expected to wait for awhile before getting my hands on mine. I saw the deal late and ordered on April 25th and honestly moved on right away to other things, you know, LIFE? Just got the CFO transfer notification email tonight and... ok, good to know, next step!

If they had sold out within a few days, I doubt the delay would be this long. However, there will be people that will b i t ch about THAT as well, probably saying "what's the point of the sale when it's sold out in 2 days? b i t ch b i t c h b i t c h"

Chill out! Go shoot other guns. Do other things. Life's too short to b i t ch about everything.

I'm thinking of ordering one tomorrow if they're not sold out.... Where's my Transfer notice?

148 pages thus far, lots of new 1911 shooters, how many do you think will reload, how many will just burn through the 1000 rnds, pack up their $170 pistol, go back to cheap 9mm.

Be just like after XMas 1000rnds deals, lots of brass around.

its my first 1911 and I reload,

hence why Ill be picking the range bare of all the other guys,

if they dont reload now... more brass for me like I said, besides I always saved brass even before I got set up reloading, esp .45, I can sell that at 6c a case easy

Observations at the largest range in GVA/LM is majority shoot 9mm due to lower cost and/or lack of recoil. Rarely see folks shoot 45s.

Would expect it'll take the 1000 rnds for newbie to get comfortable with 45s vs. the puny 9mm. Sticker shock of box of 45 at ~$25 a box vs. $15 for 9mm will drive them back to 9mm (plus 9mm is often on sale, 45 rarely on sale)

The three primary ROs there all shoot 9mm, none shoot 45s. One reloads 9mm and teaches courses.

BEER, YUM :)

Reloading is not for most folks nor selling of brass. Need to sell in bulk to make 6c a piece worthwhile with gas at buck fifty a liter.

Fully expect the brass monkeys will be happy for a while.

Hey there,

I ordered on April 26 and got the email that my transfer was initiated two days ago. The email said to check the progress with the CFC and had the phone number so I thought why not. They have no record at all of a transfer being initiated for me. Just letting you know in case I got mixed up with someone else.

Cheers,
Chris

Sorry should have read through the posts more thoroughly. The bulk transfer is most likely why they haven't seen it yet. Thanks for getting back to me so fast I thought your emails would be too crazy so posted here as well. Thanks again for offering this deal!

OK, I realize that it is the internet, but while waiting for my bundle(s) of joy to arrive, I've spent a lot of time reviewing 1911 forums (Norinco specific posts) and have a few Q's for those of you who have been closer to the front of the line and have had a chance to play with your new toys. These pistols are supposed to be from a 1997 military order that was cancelled so we're told, so past posts on forums may well apply to these.
1. What is the snugness of the barrel to bushing like? Sloppy fits are often mentioned.
2. Heavy triggers are often mentioned, how was yours after a bit of lube & cycling? (some of you have said trigger pull is OK).
3. It was stated on a U.S. forum, that front slide serrations were added sometime after the U.S. import ban was imposed (circa 1984-89-93?) but pics posted do not show any forward serrations. Thoughts?
4. Many posters claim to have replaced springs upon purchase, either NIB or used. I would expect these springs to be ok for some time unless you immediately wish to start tweaking, thoughts? Any issues?
5. For a (short?) period, there was an issue with some barrel lugs peening or even shearing off and it seemed like it was not specifically related to guns after thousands of rounds either. Nobody appears to be able to narrow down any kind of serial number range where this was observed and it was suggested that the issue was eventually resolved. Anybody noticed any kind of early wear showing up inside?

In general, most posts, especially by U.S. shooters indicated a high regard for Norinco firearms (I guess "absence makes the heart grow fonder" since they can't have them, lol). Eager to hear replies. I'm still looking forward to these pistols.

Called the CFC to see if transfer was approved and it was ! Funny side note, the guy at the other end of the line started talking about the awesome deal and that a buddy had taken advantage of it and was pleased with the purchase as well, and that he also was debating making a purchase !!

Please don't say that too loud ..... a gun enthusiast working at the CFC .... they might fire his butt!

How long is the average wait time from payment, to shipping? I am moving in July so I'm not sure if I should use my order now and use my current address or afterwards and use my my new address.
