norinco-97

Ah, almost forgot this:

The JS 7.62mm Sniper Rifle, is of bolt-action and chambered for 7.62×54mm R.

It should be noticed that the early version have muzzle brake, but was omitted on the later prototypes due to the dust kicking problem and the recoil recuction of th muzzle brake was not sufficient. Designed by Zou Yi Hong of Jian She Corp, he spend 8 months to design and built the weapon from scratch. It was first shown during the Beijing Police Equipment Expo of May, 2005.

Personally, I hope that it could to make its way to People's Republik of Canuckistan, but it needs Picatinny rail, desprite of whatever advandages they claim about their indigenous optic mount.....

This internet warrior just used the LMG version on Battlefield 2. 100 round drum. The soldiers also use that Lever Arms 98 pistol as well. Neat.

I've always wondered why the Chinese assault/medic in BF2 uses AK47...... they didn't know that the Type 56 are in service mostly by the Reserves and Militra forces nowadays?

ofcos, she will love you a long time but first sign up for military service, lol.

if you think this bullpup is ugly which i disagree then you must think the famas is the ugliest.

The chinese arms industry is really improving by leaps and bounds. I don't think it will be more than 5 or 6 years before they are developing state of the art gear
rather than copying or refining other designs. There was a time when the
japanese car industry was not considered a threat to ford or GM.

Update for those who PMed me regarding the scope for Type 97:
Scopes with QD (quick-detach) will be available soon in Canada, by the month of March.

Also, by then, the non-restricted version will have a FRT#.

:dancingbanana:

I'd rather see the staffs in Jian She(the actual developer/producer of Type 95/97) will improve the Type 97 to include p-rails in their design, so we can mount ACOG, Aimpoint, EOTech, Sure Fire etc etc.......

They managed to pull it off on their JS 9mm SMG, there are no reasons they can't do the same with the Type 97........

You have a point.
But until then we have to live with the carry handle inherited from
Type 95. And with the less than usable open sights.
The QD scope is a reasonable way to fix that.

Well then, I hope that the Type 97 will sells so well that someone will eventually produce some sort of p-rail that fits on the proprietary mount.......

BTW is that "unrestricted" version is essentially the SAW version with a different furniture that didn't have that tiny foregrip that doubled as the trigger guard?

The non-restricted ones I've seen and handled are ABSOLUTELY exactly like the one in Palinak's hands in a post in this thread, but longer barrel.
So no tiny little handle doubled as trigger guard's front piece.

Thanks Deckard
The price is alot more intising than the Tavor but i think I like the Tavor better.#### i will have to buy one of each to find out wich one i like best.My wife is going to kill me.

I'd prefer a Tavor, but <might> be able to afford a Norinco by the end of the year, IF they become available <and> are non-restricted. Hope at least one variant comes with optics though ...
