Norinco CQB M4 AR ~ vs Others like...

Budget = Norinco absolutely.

A bit more = NEA, I have one with NO issues other than a 100 lb trigger pull.

A bit more than that = I would tell you to jump on what ever Spikes Tactical platform Questar has available right now. They are all almost gone and the wait list for more is 6 months. I missed out last year because I waited regarding Spikes.

I bought a 14.5" LE Spikes last month, and just bought a 16 " Mid Length yesterday.

I will second this in regards to Spikes Tactical. By far the best buy at the moment.....I jumped on a PDW from Questar and it is a fantastic unit

I just purchased a Norinco M4 about 15 minutes ago from SFRC...I hope they send me a good one...I've researched this firearm somewhat and it is about all I can afford right now in my budget...I think it'll do just fine for the range and personal training on a semi mil type firearm. I'm actually pretty secure that I'm getting a decent rifle for the money...Now, a question...Can I use the LAR 10 round mags in this rifle?? I'm pretty sure I can but just checking with the teachers...

I have had a Norc for about 2 years now. Shot 4 - 3gun shoots and have never had a problem. (well stupid LAR's are hard to jam in with bolt closed). Even in practice it has been flawless. Seen many more expensive guns at these shoots that were less reliable.

Maybe just got lucky but for a fun paper killin gun I am impressed. Trigger is even getting better!

I would still like to get an NR rifle like XCR but cost is quite high for me personally.

Cheers

I'm snooping for a 3-gun M4 as well. what is the popular opinion? 14.5 or 10.5?

:ar15:

Both.

My Norinco 14.5" has been flawless; not so much the 10.5" :)

Had to change out the buffer for a heavier one and the extractor spring/extractor to make if flawless. This is my favorite now.

They both have been dropped, scraped, and generally abused. Not treating them very well overall. Cleaned after every rangeday though. They have held together and really impressed me overall. Both worked right out of the box.

Unlike that other AR15 G:

The NEA-15 is a great little rifle, but not for a noob! The first thing you have to do is like dissasemble it and retorque every screws, nuts and lube the whole damn thing, throw a bit of lock tite here and there for bedding purposes and buy some mags. After that you get a performer without any issues. I suspect NEA hires drunk Christmas dwarves on the assembly line. Lol J/K :D

Or it's actually manufactured by Robertson Arms.

I'm going to give my search for a used one another few days then I will just buy a new one locally... but what's up with the Krylon? Just paint right over the whole thing (after cleaning it)?

Can one polish the outside of the barrel? Yeah, i'm looking to kill time an make a cheap gun look different.

You can polish anything if you have the time and the tools. Myhtbusters actually polished a turd. An actual turd. G'head, look it up.

If you can get your hands on one for a little more, I would get the NEA version, made in Canada for just under a thousand.

No chance. Buying a rifle with no QC to speak of, and a well deserved reputation for manufacturing junk that doesn't work?. Not happening. Not to mention a proven history of dishonest behavior on the part of the management.
