norinco guns?

I am the proud owner of several Norinco firearms.

I carried the M37 Tactical shotgun deer hunting in November, a good bush gun. And it knocked down deer. Much to the surprise of my colleagues.

The Tokarev 9mm Improved. An inexpensive entry level firearm. No problems at all.

The M-93 Woodsman .22 cal. semi-auto. The little Norinco has never jammed. A nice shooter.

The M14S. 308 Winchester. A good shooter. At the range everybody wanted to shoot it.

.22 KKW Trainer. Bolt action Mauser-look. Accurate and a nice feel for anyone who wants a Wehrmacht style rifle without the price....
 
The problem with Norinco is not so much quality as it is quality CONTROL.

Per 1000, you are more likely to get a ..um...difficult gun, (or scope or red dot for that matter anything) with any Chinese manufacturer, than with most other poular "expensive" brands.

If you get a good one, you're golden. I have a couple of friends who swear by em with a few mods.

You get a bad one, you get a bad one.


Get what ever you can afford and SHOOT. It matters not what you use to get the lead downrange, just get it downrange! :D
 
I don't get it. I have a Norinco 1911A1 pistol, parkerized sn.60###X. It is a great shooter. I used to take it out and shoot at -40F just to watch the barrel smoke (I'm easily amused). The box says "Norinco pass QS" on the top and the normal information on the end. I even put 23 round extended mags in it (that also work in my Marlin Camp 45). It shoots like a dream. I'd go through Canada about 4 times a year between the 48 and Alaska and I really wish I could pick up a new one...but politics being what they are... I read about the 'junk' norcs and can't believe we're talking about the same gun. It must be quality control. Maybe the 45 Fairy is just good to me. I paid $340 USD about 12 years ago. I suppose the lesson is :Get what you like, shoot it, then decide whether to keep it or not.

What about bringing parts in for your Norinco 45? i.e. buy a gun here strip it sell the frame here and take the rest across the border.
