Norinco M4

I agree, i wont be wasting $900+ on this monstrosity, 600-700$ I will think about it.

Fair enough. Now I'm assuming that you already have at least one AR or you wouldn't necessarily feel that way. But for anyone that is just getting into the AR market, $900 is still just over half of the price that brand new similarly equipped Stags are going for. It's still too much for a Norinco, but then again $1600 is too much for a Stag... The AR market in Canada sucks for buyers right now, that's for sure... :(

$899 imported by Lever Arms.

They have a load of them that will probably be distributed out to other vendors as well.

Chrome lines barrel
Ambi selector and magazine release
Flat top with carry handle
2 magazines
3-point sling
Cleaning kit

The finish is a bit rough, but they run just fine. It gets people into the AR game for considerably cheaper than some of the other stuff out there.

Monstrosity?

It looks equal in finish to the Imperial AR I handled and that rifle was almost twice as much. It doesn't have that wacky 180 degree selector either.

As long as it runs, it's fine by me.

With taxes and shipping my new AR only cost few hundred more...

C'mon, you have to give us more info than just that! ;) What did you buy? and what did it cost?

Here is a link to a new Stag that is set up the same as the Norinco. As you may be shocked to see, AR prices are going up across the board these days... Unfortunately the Norinco, even at $900, is a bargain by comparison.

*edit* Yes, I know the Stag is a lefty. But it still illustrates the point that AR prices are getting out of hand and that the Norinco is a bargain in an overpriced market.

900$ is too much for a norinco AR platform i feel. Why they arent the same price as the cq311's were when they came out im sure is nothing but greed. 699$ i think lever was selling them for. I dont see how these M4's could possibly be any more expensive, i mean they are already saving 5.5 inches of barrel/rifle, saving once again in the hand guard dept, and even the stock is shorter....I mean come on they are doing nothing but cutting back materials and for some reason they cost more? Doesn't jive with me. :p

Anyhow from the pics posted it looks very rough, and color of upper/lower dont even match.

Yes my bushmaster is much nicer than this.

looks good, the only thing I do see missing is the bump stops for the safety.... i would buy a norinco ar15 to get buddies into the black rifle market no problem.

I'm amazed at how important the cosmetics of this rifle are to the majority of nay-sayers.

How it looks has nothing to do with how it will run. Mike K says they run and that matters to me more than how they look. I've seen Armalites and other "name brand" guns that didn't run, but they sure looked pretty.

As far as comparing the price to CQ311's imported 10 years ago, that's not valid, jdman. How many guns do you know of that haven't gone up in price over that time period? Inflation is worldwide, even in China.

Disclaimer: I'm just trying to inject some objectivity into this discussion. I have no intention of buying one of these and I have no vested interest in seeing them sell.

I like them for the fact that it will cause nothing but cheaper AR's in the EE. All of the overpriced ads will have no choice but to stop the gouging. New Ar's for 1200$ again, good ones too. just watch and see the ads with the falling prices. People will drop the price BIG time, or they wont sell, period.

You know that I cannot remain silent any longer!!

Don't buy ONE!!

Buy TWO of them!! LOL :D

Okay seriously now, the more AR15 owners we can get showing up, the better! I'm not going to tinfoil hat about what is good and what should not be bought, but since I am all about shooting on a budget (always have been, the Hungry Welfare Styles), I'm advocating more AR15's that limited budget shooters can get INTO the game and STAY shooting through all the tough times! :nest:

Now come on out to my matches.... or YOUR local Service Rifle matches or YOUR local 3 Gun Matches! :D

So let's keep the discussion positive, I've got enough negativity in my day job....

;)

I dsagree. 10 years agou, our dollar was 64 cents to the USD. Today it's more like 85 cents. If anything, these shold be CHEAPER than CQ311's.

Just my $.02 worth.

And don;t even get me started about AR prices in the states compared to here... you can almost buy a Colt for the price of these Norincos!

10 years ago everything was cheaper though, period. inflation has brought everything up quite a bit, lately esspecially

im wondering about the finish comments,as long as the thing runs i couldnt care less what the finish looks like for two reasons
1)ill paint it anyways, just for fun
2)i use my guns, and use them hard so the finish gets beat up through use, even my sig shows visible wear

as a student, cheap + works is what im looking for. my 1911 fits that, from all accounts the m14s fit that, and i dont think this will disapoint either. if new ARs were still 1200$ i would say its not worth it at 900$, but an RRA is 1500$ and it still needs an adjustable stock for another 100$.

also, if lever is selling them for 900, we know most board dealers give much better prices than them, so hopefully we are looking at them for 700 or so

^^^You beat me to it...;)

Not sure why there is so much concern about the finish...seems that most of the AR pics here have a fancy Krylon paintjob anyway...

pish tosh I say!!! Guns prices are not going to go down , I have accepted this! But on the positive side of the norclone , at least if they are around 800 , you do not have to spend 1500+ just to punch holes in paper.
I am not a competitive shooter so from my point of view I would rather spend that on the norc that spend a ton on something I can only take to a range , does that make any sense?
