I have a feeling when Marstar gets theirs in, it will be in the neighbourhood of 50% of domestic cost.
You're dreaming in technicolor. If this feeling is based on any of the speculation above, I asked the people making "bets" if these were based on any actual fact or knowledge, and they both replied, no (well, more than that, but the answer remained the same). Their guesses are baseless.
The rifles are here, one importer got them here, Lever. AEI has them
in stock and is selling them for $895.
All the ones we have are much nicer than in the photos Lever posted. I'll have a post up Sunday night back to back with a 'real' M4, and after a range session. The CQ 556 is a cheaper rifle price-wise for sure, but I do think represents good value, and is immediately availability.
So far, I can say the uppers and lowers swap out with the STAG-15. Fit between upper and lower is fresh C7ish (not as snug as the STAG, but surprizingly good). A Magpul CTR stock, commercial spec fit perfectly.
They have ambi-safety, ambi-mag release, tactical sling and two mags. Mag wells are smooth and generous in fit, I am confident in saying that any mag will drop free from them.
We shipped a number of these out today, I think customers will be happy. I look forward to more reading what people who buy them think, and less reading incorrect assumptions from people who aren't buying them anyways.
Cheers,
DT
