If the grip screws in the frame are strong enough for continued firing, that 'stock' isn't half insane.

Sounds like a great composite stock project.

Suddenly that trigger guard cocking is AWESOME.

One would also want to add some steel to the front of the P90 shell as the muzzle blast from the M77B would shatter the plastic. Hmmm... should not be that hard to rig up I think. You are quite right, the trigger guard cocker is looking quite a bit better for that design. Nothing quite like a civilian legal, cheap to own P90 that shoots 9mm and uses 9 round mags....

What are the chances someone has drawings with dimensions on the P90?

Would also be easy enough just to create something similar. Got some angle weaver bases that would work for the sights or just something from the tons of airsoft and AR kit out there.

Jerry

It will make a version using folded sheet metal and probably shaped wood. I'd install a rail on top and scope riser. I suggest we all go for it and see what emerges.

How many would want a composite stock? Likely will be 80% scale of the P90 in appearance. Not sure how to overcome the sight tower yet.

Cost estimated $150 unpainted, then whatever that sight base will cost (can go simple like an AK side mount, to extreme which is fabricate a clone).

Looking for some serious feedback. If there is at least 6 interested in a stock, I will look into what it will take to make a mold.

Deckard, PDM-07B is just a combination of the different parts of this project.

P = P-90
D = Well that will be credit to you
M = part of the Norinco pistols name
07 = the year of course and continuing to use part of the Norinco name
B = again part of the Norinco name and it just sounds better.

I don't think 6 stocks will cover more then the costs of the mold/plugs and set up so sorry, I really don't think there will be any discounts offered. But your initial is used in the name :)

Now go PM a few guys and see if anyone is really serious about this project.

Or else, this will go the way of the 9mm Carbine buy....
Jerry

Just a heads-up folks.
This is starting to look like a group buy.
ALL group buys must be pre-approved by greentips.
Please PM GT for approval before going further.

Cheers.

Is it a group buy if I am the one making it and covering the costs? No deposit, no obligations.

Just seeing if there is any interest to even pursue making the molds. Might just do it anyways for S&G's.

Would probably been better set up as a poll but everyone wants to know costs before deciding anything so I threw out a guesstimate both in price and volume.

Most definitely not a sure thing...but it would be a neat project for 2007.

I would love to add the poll, but somebody will have to show me how to do that. Oh, I would also be in for a P90 stock, perhaps 2 of them seeing as how I have two of these beasts now.

lets see how long it holds up i would have just left the norinco at the range it woul probably still be their when you get back . no offence to you but i take great plesure in making fun of norincos nickle and dime guns nice HK though!

Well, after 3000+ rounds of everything from 115 grain JHP to 147 grain subsonics it has not malfunctioned once. That is better than some of the Euro 9mm pistols I have owned over the years (which were at least 4 times the price of the M77B) It goes bang every time and hits exactly where I aim. It comes out to the range every time I go, which should say a lot as I have a huge stable of pistols to choose from... everything from a 75 dollar German .22LR SAA to the 2000+ dollar HK P7M8. With the quality of the matierials and the novel design exhibited by the M77B I would hardly call it a "nickle and dime" gun. I have a custom Commander built on a Norinco 1911 45ACP frame, the frame is as good as the other brands I have in the house. Norinco products may be low in price but they are generally quite high in quality (Lever Arms Mixmaster Marley Slideing barrel SKS's not withstanding)

Thats all for todays rant.
