Norinco NR-15 Bolt-Action 22LR New Arrival

Looks like it might be; not a bad process if the metal composition and heat treatment is up to snuff. It also looks like it could be investment cast (think Ruger). That is something the Chinese are good at; I'm thinking Maniflods and turbo/super charger housings and impellers. Bottom line is it is a .22, it is not a 760 Eargersplitten Loudenboomer, so it will likely take the recoil. LOL

What problems did yours have?
The first one: bolt wouldn't go in...sear too high to allow insertion with trigger pulled. Second one: bolt would go in, stiff to close but had to use a rubber mallet to open it. Pretty non existent QC at the factory. I'm so dumb I'm actually going to try a third one! Previous runs of these have been great little rifles.

You can carefully hand fit a tight one.

Mine arrived this morning. Seems to cycle nicely. Safety works well too. Only downer so far is that it arrived with the thread protector broken.

Did anyone get a decent 15a shortie out of this recent batch from Tenda? I sent back two but at this price, cripes, I'm tempted. 3rd time lucky?
Hi Arcosdad - I ended up buying both a full size and a shorty JW-15. TBH, I really liked both. The magazines were awful, but could be cleaned up inside (sandpaper) to run semi-reliably. CZ magazines fixed any issue. They both shot well too, especially the 24".

I think I answered you in another thread, but with the shorty at first I couldn't close the bolt properly with the action in the stock. The bolt handle cut out in the stock wasn't deep enough to lock properly, but easily fixed.

May have been the only 2 decent versions in the last batch of JW15s by the sound of it. Some CGNers took exception to a semi positive review, but oh well.
