Love it man!

Thank you and since it is my thread, can you take a few more pics of the lever and action? Lol!!!!

I should add that I have been thinking about a Norinco lever, as I have seen some dismal groups from the typical Henrys at the range. Could be user error, but so far it has been a gamble I have been unwilling to take.

Hello Father , well I will let you know when I get some range time and it stops snowing on the weekends ,,,, G warming ,,,hmmmmmmm not sure on that bet lol.
So far I am happy with it , cost less than a Henry but it can use a little internal polishing but that's normal , but all milled steel so it can take it .

It cycled very smoothly right out of the box , no grinding or gravel road , nice positive lock up . 20 in barrel and 15 LR and Shhhhhhhhhhh It will feed shorts too .........

Before cleaning and tuning / polishing up

Aaaaah man!

I may love you at this moment, as you have made my day!

That is a thing of unpolished beauty!

THANK YOU.

Hello Father

Your very welcome , you have helped so many of us tune our SN 522's with your excellent posts , pic's , ect I am glad to return the favour in my small way .

I should note , looking at the interior parts , the First and second pic , some parts appear rough especially on the sides but upon cleaning it was found that a lot of it was some kind of rough finish applied to the steel , easy enough to polish off and re blue .

Runs like a dream , 300 rds cycled through , no FTF or FTE .

Here is the polishing of the inside , would hve gone better but my Derminal tool gave up the ghost ... It's not a Winchester or Marlin in fit and finish but she still is pretty ..

Thank you Father , did a bit more polishing and bluing after some cycling indicated the friction points , she real smooth now .

Thank you Minimouse , it's the wood stock section of my 22 cal Norinco collection , poor man's way to have many different and accurate rifles lol.

Seen a few SN 522's come and go on the EE , be nice to see some of these new SN owners give us some range reports and pic's ... Just saying

OK , I confess I forgot one Norinco that I have with a wood stock but it's a high gloss not the pearl finish brown stock .

top to bottom

Norinco JW-15A Synthetic .22LR Bolt Action Rifle, 24" Barrel, I could not find one with a high gloss wood stock ,,, sad
Norinco JW-20 .22 semi automatic rifle , high gloss Walnut look a Like stock .

Note " wood stock " means .. some type of wood of unknown origins . lol

A pic of the twins. Two American Keng's NS-522s, both glass and pillar bedded, both with reworked triggers, both mounting Leupold VX-2, 6-18 X 40mm target scopes.

I played with mine a bit after work today. I found a suitable piece of steel for a target and hung it up in an old gravel pit at 200 yards to try my luck. It's7.5" diameter. I had the rifle sighted in for 50 yards and just holding over. I hit it on the 5th shot, but I wasn't very consistent, so figured I could dial in some elevation, seeing how I bought a scope with target turrets for just such an ocassion. I ended up adding 18moa elevation to get on target at 200, and once I had it dialed in, I could hit it pretty consistently. It's pretty cool taking the shot, seeing the target swing, then hearing the ding. This far with a 22 and there's a definite separation between each step. I've lobbed a few rounds to 200 with a 22 before, but this is the first time I've set up for it. I was shooting CCI Blazer, I wish I had brought some SV though to try for some better groups. It's been way to long since I've done any shooting though, I'm pretty rusty. I couldn't get any decent groups at 50 yards yesterday, every time I was having a good one I'd end up with a flyer. The scope is a Mueller 4-16x50 AO Tactical. I definitely need either a cheek riser or lower rings, or both. Or maybe a different stock. I might have to try my hand at building a more target oriented one.

Can't even see the 200 yard target. The three paper targets are at 50 yards.

I definitely got some hits on it.

Not sure how to embed a video, so I'll just link it. I hit it every shot in the video, but some of the hits are pretty quiet. They must have been on the edge, but I saw the target swing with every shot, so I'm counting them.

Thanks. That was pretty much the longest distance shooting I've ever done. Spec blinds do make good targets. The two I have were too rusty to be used for blinding off piping, so fair game. I think I'm going to cut the open end off them though. I went back to my shooting spot after work today, all cocky after yesterday's success, and thought I'd back up to 300. That didn't work so well, I don't have enough elevation adjustment for that, so I went in to 250. A quick check of a ballistics chart showed that I'd need approximately 24 moa over my 50 yard zero, so I cranked the scope up and nailed the target on the first shot. Total fluke though, I couldn't hit it again to save my life. And I made the mistake of setting up on a pile of logs instead of a hillside where I'd be able to see where my misses were landing. The mosquitoes were vicious today, so after 15 shots I gave up and took off for the day.
