Norinco NS522 build: NEW MAG RELEASE

Without giving much praise to the guy that cut it...

Thanks for the reply/warning !

Fair warning. That's a shame, had he done everything he promised you he would have had a great business opportunity from this thread alone. I was set to buy one of those stocks as soon as I found out who made them. The search continues.

I agree...

Sometimes, I ask myself, why I don't buy a 4-axis router ???

I gave him hint after hint that this would generate business for him. I had every intention of singing his praises on this website. I like to see Canadian gun businesses succeed. That is why I give Canadians most of my business. I gave this guy a chance despite a couple of negative reviews chalking it up to being new and the lack of experience. He clearly doesn't understand the devastation that word or mouth can cause. Especially on this website. He could have done very little to make me a satisfied customer and for sure he would have had more business. Either he gets enough business on his own or he just doesn't give a crap about his name or what his customers think. I welcome a reply from him on this thread but I won't hold my breath.

Why can't someone in Canada make a stock for this rifle at a decent price? How many would they have to sell to make it worth their while? I know there must be some people out there with the right equipment looking to make some cash.

Well,

I do appreciate the stocks that some have got ahold of, but I am pretty OK with the factory one. It balances well and for me I guess I am so used to it now Im not sure I would change.

But,

My wife says I am wrong frequently, so ya never know!

That's a real shame...the rifle deserves a good stock.I sanded mine down, blocked in that massive bolt handle cutout ,recut it with a round rasp and then sanded down the whole stock and applied several costs if epoxy to harden up the softwood then sprayed it with a hard enamel( flat dark green) not a nice walnut stock but a great improvement that didn't cost much and I can always touch it up with another shot of paint

Throw a pic up if you don't mind. I love to see what creative people are doing with their drift wood.

I just picked up one of those stocks from Keng's Firearms. The stock fits quite nicely. A friend of mine brought one back across the border when he went last week. He has a US postal address for shipping as they still do NOT ship to Canada. Cost turned out to be $294.00 US. Now I have furniture for both of my NS522's. They have mags available for $86 US a pair (2). I probably should have picked up a couple of those too but didn't.

Your friend risked a $1,000,000 fine and 10 years in jail to bring that across the border.... Hope you paid him well!

Remember see this thread a while ago and its been close to the top lately, well I thought I'd see what the fuss was all about and picked up a used one. Got it rigged up today with some warne rings and a Nikon pro 5 4.5-18 mil dot and put 100 rounds though it. Scope will be replaced with a mueller apv 4.5-14 that on a different one now.

After 7 shots to get on at 30yrds went out to 50 and my first groups were touching (the 2 3 shot ones) I thought holy crap this things for real! Lol. So I thought I'd do the rimfire challenge on the green target, it and/me loosened up a bit but seems to be a 3/4 gun easy. Then finished off the orange one. Then did a box of CCI Sv and its about the same at just over .7 for 10 5 shot groups.

Mine seems ok action functions decent, trigger is not awesome but bearable, action don't seem to move around. I will do some mods, pillars and bed it and if I get brave maybe trigger and not sure what else. This will be my first attempt a bedding/pillars. Hope to make it do the 1/2" challenge. Things I don't like so far are mags slide down so every 3rd shot you need to press it up or sometimes won't pick up a round and brass sometimes don't clear the port and lock time seems slowish. Other than that I'm surprised. Shot the Ruger 77 after and it did good then spoiled myself with the CZ as it hasn't been out for a bit, forgot how smooth it is.

Must be something wrong with my ammo, get 3 or 4 touching with the odd flyer :)

My friends and I have a saying along the lines of "the best group is a one shot group." I recently started reloading .223 and have put 3 touching in a cloverleaf pattern at 100M a couple times but that same load opens to 0.8" or 0.9" if I add two more shots. I'm adjusting some of my equipment now to hopefully reduce these fliers so that I can be sure when it's me causing the problems.

Sk standard ammo works awesome in mine, it seems to like the good target ammo!
