Norinco NS522 build: NEW MAG RELEASE

Earlier I had mentioned an "Indexy" feel. Well, that had to do with a trigger component being milled on a Friday at 4:45.
I removed the bluing/blacking coating to show what I mean. The trigger spring slides in the groove and due to the rough milling the feel on the finger was rough and notchy. This is not a typical surface one would pay attention to while polishing the sear contact surfaces, but it was the worst source for poor trigger feel on my example.
The culprit:

I wanted to add the the interior surfaces of the assembly are quite rough as well. This will all contribute to an overall hard pull. I snapped a few pics of the wear marks after the first ammo testing session to show you what I mean. The lighter areas are due to friction.

Heres mine, i painted my stock with some Krylon flat OD . Love this rifle ! it shoots better than my CZ 452 ! Not a bad deal if you ask me! Just sure cant lose your mags cause it does not look like we can get replacements ? at least the mags seem well built .

Any chance you will sell the rest of us a springy dingy? Or let us know where to buy a few springs?

REALLY really great photos & description of trigger action!

Thanks Phil

I did a floating sealing. and clear coating and bedding to mine, wish the stock was narrower like a Russian Toz or the 452's. the pad stunk like a chinese made tire from Princess auto also..ordered a simmons 22 mag scope for $34.95 delivered from Cabelas.

PS. This is a great write up.
Ive been mauling the idea over to buy one of these and I have made up my mind to go ahead and get one. I can deal with everything that has been modified or cleaned up and am a sucker for cheaper rimfires that shoot tight groups. I also think I would order a Boyds blank and build my own stock.

Thanks for the compliments!

Yes, i was wise for once and ordered a supply of them. I just have to figure out my cost per spring after it was all said and done. I like to calculate in beer, so each spring should work out to a beer or two.

Mmmmmm....Beer.

Can someone post a picture of a mag. Someone might be able to come up with a close replacement that could be modified.

Someone making up a mag would probably be prohibitively expensive and difficult. Your best bet would be to contact some vendors where this rifle has been around for a few years. I mentioned this in an earlier post and I since have sent off some emails to some dealers with an inquiry as to sourcing the mags. I will keep you all posted!

Great info Father!
I don't find the trigger too bad now so I bet it would be sweet after your trigger job.

boss35, I'm a sucker for OD green, that stock looks great.

Boss: OD stock looks great. From my experience I had with Krylon paint( clear ) I can advise not to handle it if you have bug spray containing deet in it on your hands. If I remember correctly it was an OFF product. It smeared the finish and left my finger prints in it. They may have changed their formula since I used it a few years ago.
Wouldn't want to see such a beautiful job ruined.

bug spray, especially the older formulas that had over 90% deet, will do that to just about any gun finish. I've seen it eat through a varethane finish (on cheek weld), fishing line and some other plastics.

Thanks for all the compliments thus far guys. It has been alot of fun!

I am working on part 3 now and should have the breakdown of the bolt done with all the pics tnite.

Hi, father, would u pls give some detailed information on Stage 1. Stock redo, pillar/glass bed. Thanks

I sure can. I made an error and should have taken pics as I went, but I was more concerned with not boring anyone to death.
It just may have to wait until my next one arrives, as I cannot go back in time!
If anyone just wants/needs the supply list of items I used just shoot me a PM.
