North Eastern Arms VZ/CZ Railed Handguard and Muzzle Brake (with pics!)

Personally, I don't like the lower handguard. I think the short underside rail, lack of side rails, and weird gills kinda kill the overall cohesion of the look.

I would like the option of mounting a stubby grip mid-way, and mounting a TLR-2 on the side rails... This doesn't seem to offer that..... :(

Oh well. Upper hanguard is still coming home with me; it's bloody beautiful.

We will be offering additional side rails that can be added by drilling the lower and bolting them on.

Prototype lower is way way to bulky, final product is nice and sleek.

How stubby of a grip do you think you can mount midway without interfering with mag changes?..would have to be like 1 inch long lol

I agree, it is a little bulky. But it offers the option of side-mounting torches, which is pretty important to me.

Secondly, ever heard of the tango-down stubby grips? They'll work quite well and maintain the empty area required to perform reloads flawlessly. I think they're around 3" ? Not too sure. lol

I definitely like the option of a 9 o'clock rail for a light...but it sounds like that will be available.

SO FAR I have not wanted to put on a stubby VFG but I am definitely not ruling it out.

Other than battery storage or a place to put your hand if you have completely packed the rails with gear you need to accomplish your goals, I don't really see the point of anything longer than a stubby VFG anyway.

The stubby will fit in the rail with out fouling a mag change at the closest point to the mag. Any closer and it did foul the mag change, which is why we ended the rail where we did.

I can see Lakonian's point. If there was a little bit more rail on the bottom it would give the user more options. It might not work....but the option was there to try...

I also see how it will be better to hold without that rail there. Shorter bottom rail gives more hand space. (for those who don't use a grip)

Anyway, I'll take one:)

OK.... Random stupid question here:

What do you use to hold the top hand guard in place?

Is it just the one pin?

What pin do you use? The stock top handguard has it's own pin, do I take that one out, or does the handguard come with a pin?

Thanks!!

:)

Question for Charles Martel:

Is there enough room on the upper handguard to mount a G23 FTS magnifier behind a EoTech 552 or will it bump the 858's iron sight. If so would you remove the iron sight or are there other issues? Anyone out there try this? Opinions?

I'm on the waiting list for a set of upper/lower hanguards from Wolverine. Thanks for your support to the CGN community.

I doubt that a magnifier would fit behind a 552. I could be wrong but I have a 551 (which is noticeably shorter) on a FAB upper guard and it takes up most of the room.

If you don't mind having the nose of the Eotech hanging off in space you might pull it off...how is the eye relief on the magnifier that far out though?

Don't have the G23 yet. Holding off as I'm not sure about the eye relief or if it would even work. Those curves at the end of the NEA upper - I believe someone posted that they make the first and last positions unusable. I have a 552 that I'd like to use on my 858 but its seems most are using Aimpoints or Burris.

Any CGNers mounting EoTechs on NEAs?
