NR pistol calibre carbines

Grrrr...I hate this. I should have pushed the button on the CX4 weeks ago and not asked any questions!
Okay, in my price range as other options:
Just Right Carbine (prefer the look of the Quadrail model)
Aero Survival Rifle
Kel-Tec Sub 2000 2nd Gen
Anyone got anything bad to report about these? Thanks again.

The sub 2000 is alright, very very compact if u leave it optic free.... Trigger is meh, the recoil pulse the gun produces actually annoys me a fair bit,

The ASR in my opinion feels excellent, and shoots excellent, but has some minor design flaws.

I looked at the Just Right site and (pardon the pun) but that gun is just right. Collapsible and available in 357 SIG for stopping power in the bush.

On mine atleast.....The trigger comes a little gritty from the factory ( I fixed this though, trigger is like AR now), the upper and lower were loose, I had to add tape to tighten the fit up, the barrel retention screw comes loose slowly after each mag, the magwell was a little sloppy with glock mags, which I think resulted in initial FTF's....

All of this sounds bad, but once u work them out, they are fairly nice shooting, accurate, well balanced guns, everybody who shoots mine absolutely loves it.

Dd tank. I am going to put my asr up for sale soon. I installed a new ejector and extractor and a brand new bolt carrier which was sent to me by TNW. I also have 3 glock mags. Will be selling it a lot cheaper than it retails for. Going to put it up on the EE soon.

Good to know skatemike, will take a look - thanks. On balance at the moment though it could still be the CX4...

...or after an evening of research, the Just Right... Or...

Anyone even sell the thureon anymore?

I have a jrcarbine in .40. I was doubtfull at first, I didn't like how the upper and lower join together. But now after some 600 or so trouble free rds and one dual sport crash nothing has come loose or even needed cleaning.

If the thureon used an ar15 bbl nut and didn't have that freakishly tall rail I would have picked that up instead I think. Still might go for one in .45 in the future.

Got a gen 1 and gen 2 s2k in glock 9. Both are great. The gen 2 is a bit more refined. The gen 1 is a plain workhorse. Only thing I recommend is an over grip. Kci and factory glock mags feed great.

It's in .45 but it's NR :D

Fit between upper and lower can be tightened up by adjusting the screws the take down pins lock into. Also. The tension on the barrel nut lock detent ball can be adjusted by turning in the grub screw

Yah but unfortunately the take down pin screws are already tightened as far as they can go.

I bought the JR carbine in 9mm. Love it, it, and my XCR are the two that I use the most. Had no issues from the JR carbine. It is a little heavy but I don't mind, as well as it uses glock mags. Only had one issue with it as I lent it out to a coworker with the advice not to use cheap steel or aluminum cased ammo.

he complained that it stopped after two mags, when I had a look there was half of a broken aluminum shell in the chamber. going to be a little hiatus for him now.

Glad he never tried to remove it himself.

The 9mm pistol carbine seems to be debated here every two months. If you tally up the votes, the CX4 always wins! Plenty of comparison reviews out there as well. CX4 usually comes out on top, but can come down to personal preference. Not everyone likes the stock.

To the OP, if you're already leaning towards the CX4 and can afford one, then get it. You won't be disappointed.

Not a 9mm or semi, but the Marlin 1894's in .357mag/.38spl or .44Mag/.44spl are excellent and versatile shooters if you can find one.

I really like what you did with the stock, such a great idea!! Simple yet so effective.

Thanks, I've been watching the discussion and while I quite like the look of some of the other options, I think it is going to be the CX4. Maybe I can get a bargain on the EE though I have already discovered they seem to hold value and sell quickly, at least in 9mm.

Yep they are like 4 lbs. Fold to 16" I think. Glock mag fed 10 rounds. Fun as heck. On the states side you can rock the drum mag and have a lot of fun.
