NR Rifle Battle ACR vs XCR

That is what I was thinking, but haven't held the new keymods. Do you know if they keep balanced with the heavy barrel? My issues with the old quad rail was how front heavy it was, totally ruined it for me ( I really can't stand it ).
In slow fire it shoots as well as the heavy barrel, but it does heat up and the groups open up much faster. If you're doing lots of running and gunning, I'd suggest the heavy barrel. For lugging around coyote/deer hunting, the light barrel sheds a fair amount of weight without loosing out on accuracy for the first few shots.

My $.02

Don't own one but have shot lots of them.

It's not as front heavy, but is still noticeably unbalanced. The rails aren't that heavy. My big thing is I like the feel of the slim profile Keymod for-end much more than the bulky quad rail.

I remember reading there is significantly more weight reduction from the light barrel than the lack of rails.

heavy barrel to light barrel i think is something like .5 lbs less not 100% sure so with keymod it probably a pound less than a quad raill wit Hb

I still prefer my AR for some reason but the ACR is an awesome gun, the ergonomics of this thing are way better than the AR, I mean WAY better and still it has that familiar feel to it. I do not think you will regret buying one mine is steadily growing on me more and more.

still it is not a Diemaco... you might miss that one

Of those who have owned an AR15 and an ACR what do you think of the two? If an AR15 wasn't restricted I never would have thought of buying an ACR. Just wondering if I will not be as impressed with the ACR I have coming vs the Diemaco I just sold.

Having had both there are pros and cons for each:

XCR: Cheaper buy-in especially used. Great support from Wolverine. Available in 7.62x39. Accuracy OK. Ergos pretty good.
ACR: Expensive, great feel, esp the stock, more accurate - so/so parts support? (Gravel Agency), no support from Bushmaster on caliber conversions.

If I had to choose one, I'd get the XCR to shoot cheap 7.62x39, but I don't know if I'd want to pay the 2015 price new. Get a lightly used Keymod Heavy barrel.

Ive yet to witness an XCR at a range, or on a video, group much better than an SKS rifle. $2300+ on a gun that shoots 2-3 MOA is ludicrous. ACR, XCR .....ive handled both and the XCR certainly shoulders and handles better for me, than the ACR's do.

Ive weighed out the options for the last year, and have decided M1a is the way to go :)

if you leave the ACR restricted it is way cheaper

Arms east was just selling restricted ACR's new with enhanced forend for $2175

used prices should be dropping

IRUNGUNS also has them at a good price right now

That is a big part of why I sold mine. I also didn't think it was a very robust design, which I think has been born out by the experiences of quite a few people.

I have only handled a restricted ACR and not one of the newer keymod XCR's but I thought the ACR handled well. Guess I will find out how the NR is shortly.

Their Enhanced model sales for $2,470.48US, which at the current exchange rate comes out to $3,074.39CDN, which is $only 200 cheaper than the advertised price at Wolverines for the non-restricted DMR ACR (whenever it does come) of $3,299.

Holy crap man. The DMR has never been built and probably never will. This comes up on every ACR thread. The price they have there was with the dollar at par to boot.

The deal you want is the basic with the folder, which will come out to about $2600 to your door, a good deal on sale. The retail on the one I had was 3k without the folder.

The folder alone costs $260 + tax. The basic has the fore-end you want, no one likes the enhanced fore-end. Other than that all you get with the enhanced is a nice flash hider (AAC). And no, the enhanced does not come with an upgraded trigger, that was supposed to come with the DMR, which is a Unicorn.

Mike I hope you are enjoying the rifle, I miss it a lot even though I only had it for 5 min.

Last note is that Arms East does not answer emails, better to call them. If you buy something that's not in stock, they will not tell you so, it's just crickets. I would call in your order to ensure they have the item and you're not waiting for months.

I'm not looking for one, simply pointing out that buying from the US with the current exchange rate isn't as good of a deal as some may think it is.

Re basic Vs enhanced - I do agree with you that it is the preferred model to buy.
