O’Dell Benelli M4 Clone :)

Do we know how many versions of this are in Canada and which vendors are selling which version?

If I'm reading this right, there is at least a 700$ version and an 850$ version but you guys are saying the sights are ####tier on the more expensive gun? Is the only difference the sights?

We don't know what the 700 gun will have for sights as they haven't landed yet.

It's not the type of sight per say, it's that these are the loosest, weakest and most horribly made and assembled sights I have ever seen on any gun, ever. They truly are garbage. The way the rail/sight assembly is mounted is horrible as well, so the rail is compromised too.

On a $200 shotgun (your typical turkish shotgun) it's understandable, but a gun that's FOUR times that cost?

#### THAT.

That's cute and dandy but that's $$$. Doesn't seem to be adjustable for elevation.

We don't even know what your M4 clone will have for sights yet. We're hoping based on the pics that they're different and better than the 850 gun. If it's like the other guns it won't even have a bolt patten to screw aftermarket assemblies, it will have a small dovetail.

Yes the details are not confirmed yet.
We can also drill and tap for any rail option
But I guess we will see when they arrive

If you think you're going to be shooting without "spend, spend, spend" you need to get out more.

The type of person that is interested in this shotgun isn't interested in spending $200 on sights, I think is where he was going with that. If you had the money to spend on a proper M4, you'd buy an M4.

I don't think there's much Benelli can do, its been 20 years since the M4 hit the market and the patent would be expired.

Read on the thread for the $700 version that patents had expired except for the stock which still has some patents.

Benelli will have to accept a lower profit margin and lower their prices for the retail M4s.

It’s hard to say what Benelli would do. When cheap Chinese 870’s came out, it may have competed with the 870 express a little, but I don’t think prices fell for the 870 police. Some people have money and will pay for the branding or quality differences. I think colt ar15’s still command a higher price than the lower end AR’s? Having said that, many companies charge a huge premium until their patents expire and reduce their prices a bit. I still watch a lot of cable tv and I constantly see commercials for that popular blue pill for older men that states they have a new lower price, so why risk getting the cheaper generic?

These have barely hit the market and there are guys clamouring about how a Turkish shotgun couldn’t possibly match a true benelli .... some guys can afford to pay for branding.

I’m interested because I have no place for any $2,000 plus guns with my meager budget, so it’s the clone or nothing for me lol.

I haven’t had much luck with Turkish shotguns so far though.

I look at it more that it'd be a reasonable priced project gun, assuming they're decent, not unlike the Norinco M14s.

Even if you have to put a bit of money into them, you're still coming out far ahead vs the hugely-expensive-for-what-it-is M4.

Ordered one yesterday from Ammosource at 15% off so under $800 total shipped. Today I was at the range and another member shows up with his he picked up yesterday from LGS. That gun is great, shot the lowest power birdshot possible without any break in without any issues. We tried 4 or 5 different target loads and all cycled great. Fit and finish on the gun is way better than any Norinco. The sights aren't my cup of tea for rapid fire but I will be putting a red dot on mine anyways

This is what I meant. I own the Benelli M4 with the Scalerworks mount and a T1 on top. Not looking to dump tons of money into a $700 gun. Purchasing a good mount and then having to drill and tap the shotgun to make it work......just doesn't work for me. Just my $.02

Just put 75 assorted shells through it today and ran like a champ. Zero failures out of the box.i ran the lightest loads through and eat everything. I have no regrets on my purchase.
