Not unless you work at the shop. The pre-sale was opened in Dec of last year..

As for the cheek weld, the vertical height of the rifle is actually really compact. I had to basically tuck my chin into my chest to get behind the (rather tiny) rear sight. I think with a rail mounted optic I will still be in 'cheek' zone rather than "chin" zone. I do have a massive cranium though.

I try and keep the saliva a bit more manageable though.

I'd rather have a flat-top, but within a week after people start getting these I'm sure someone will figure something out

I know what you mean, but you ever notice how AR optics require a big-ass riser to bring the optic up to the sight line? The 97 won't require that. Everyone will have to try it on for fit.

I google searched the image and it was posted back in 2009 on a airsoft forum

fun fact: the Real Sword airsoft guns use the exact same chassis as the real rifle - just modified with pellet gun internals.

Wish I could have gotten a chance to try it, but it never came near me during it's cross-Canada tour.
I heard the irons are low and optics mounts fit "just right", but as you said, we'll have to try it on for fit.
