OK - AR15 Guru's talk to me

My experience is that good quality guns (like any good name brand AR) generally shoot better than their owners.

More trigger time = smaller groups.

Worry about gadgets later.

Agreed!

I have been shooting AR's since the late 80's. I've owned 5 Ar's, I've even blown up one with cheap ammo. But I have ZERO formal training. I'm sure I could brush up to say the least.

KevinB do you recommend any books/videos for someone trying to improve shooting with the ar platform?

For Service Rifle - my best recommendation is either to attend (Easterners) Milcun stuff with Keith C., and for Westerners - the BCRA stuff (Bob P is still doing this I think)-- they offer DCRA coaching and intro service stuff.

Longshot, HeadDamage and some of the other good shooters CGN has out there can give you some ideas as well.

I've never been big into the video people put out -- and I find the books are good for theory - and provide some interesting insight - the best way to learn if from an experienced coach.

Some of the best guys for help - are not even AR people (and then its dicey if they will help Black gunners) - since the TR shooting crowd and F class people are good at a lot of skills that can help the Canadian Service Rifle Shooter.
