Okay you old 12(6) farts!

I'm not sure why anyone without a 12.6 would care if prohib. Guns are sold...The government states that you cannot own them without a 12.6 and, you can only get the 12.6 if the guns are passed down to you from a family member. Soo.. What you want to do is find out if any 12.6 member on here has a cute daughter, marry her, get her father to pass her the guns, and then have her pass them to you. Voila instant 12.7 status.

Edited for 12.7 correction.

Which will only allow you to own whatever he has in his collection. Can't buy any other 12-6. And you're still stuck with a wife!

More false info being spewed on cgn.
You cannot get 12.6

You can get 12.7 but the gun (s) in question would have to have been manufactured prior to 1940 - something.
I think it's '47, but...

I obtained a S&W Airweight from a friend who's dad had passed. My friend has a RPAL sure... He kept all his dads guns, but.. the snubby he couldn't inherit.

It's pre-46 to be 12.7 eligible. And you are correct... You don't get 12.6 grandfathering privileges... Just those specific guns are allowed in your name (and may be passed on to certain relatives) as 12.7.

Ps: if any of you "old farts" have a Nazi marked PP it is the only hole in my collection... 23 years ago I met and later married a gal and her Dad has 12.6 and passes them along! I'll give it a good home!

How exactly are you going to " preserve" all the 12(6)s? Are you going to increase the barrel lengths or are you Peter Pan and have 12(6) and will live forever?

Keep them in circulation and not turned in for destruction by your widow! I knew some people who have a business helping people downsize and clean up after a spouse has died. They found over thirty "little" handguns and in stead of telling the widow she could legally sell them, they called the police and that was that.

Another guy contacted me here a few years ago. His BIL died and the police took all his handguns. His mother couldn't even afford the funeral. Luckily I helped him out and he managed to sell them at an auction where he only got a fraction of what they were worth.

Even so they paid for his funeral.

It's also very sad when you see a nice 2.5" Python and a nice S&W 27 with a 3.5" barrel going into the US when Canadian 12/6 owners could and would like to buy them.
.

I recently sold 4 prohibs on EE 12(x) forum:

S&W Model 19 .357 Mag 2 1/2" snubbie
S&W Model 13 .357 Mag 4" heavy barrel
Browning 1910 .32 ACP
Browning 'Baby' .25 ACP

There ya go!

Corrected my post to 12.7 in order to give my joke more true info to be spewed on cgn. Your welcome.

I don't have many, but I do have a couple of 4" .38s, with both Colt and S&W represented, and I have a 3.5" Smith 469 in 9mm. With any luck, they should safe until we can get the classification of firearms rescinded.

I have twice as many 12(6) handguns as restricted. They all see range time. BTW, I'm not particularly old and not a "fart" (although I have been called a s#!t ).

Auggie D.
