Old Remington 16 gauges

The first couple 16s I bought were 2 9/16” chambered, so I started reloading for them with a 600jr and a roll crimper. I do shoot 16 occasionally for clays games and like to shoot them to stay sharp for hunting. I agree with canvasback in that, if you are primarily hunting with one, shells are no issue.

I even have a box of bismuth loads that I am saving for a special occasion (which means hunting waterfowl with my drilling - LOL). The one shell I have found to be unobtainium are brenneke slugs in 16. Not that I really need them...I just want to try them.

was it you that bought up all that odd brand of 16ga at Canadian tire on walker :p . and too keep the thread on track didn't Canada ammo have 16ga single shots dirt cheap awhile back

Not me. The bismuth I scored was in Nebraska too. It was on the shelf at Cabelas.

Understand that is why it is more of an expense to get set up and easier to buy factory
If you reloaded even one of the others adding the 16ga is no big deal since you would already have many of the items you would need
Cheers

Very true but the reality is it's simply inertia. I need to get off my a$$. Plus, whenever I look at the money outlay I always thing "Reloading equipment vs new gun" and guess which wins? Haha

Never had a problem finding 16ga including 16ga for my Vintage SxS;s that are chambered 2-1/2", Gamebore makes a nice 2-1/2" shell, Gagnons usually has them or can order them in short lead time.......16ga is a fabulous calibre, I love it!! I have a Parker 16ga on a O Frame, it comes in just under 6lbs, a dream to carry.....I sometimes have to check that I am actually carrying a 16ga.....sorry to the OP re Remington info, I dont have any but all I can say is you will be fond of the 16ga so I say go for it!

I bought these at Epps a couple years ago:

16 gauge is still one of the dominant hunting gauges in europe, germany in particular. It's just not popular in NA. Lots of ammo is made, and if you mail order, it can be had.
