Ontario Transfer Wait Times?

I just got off the phone about an order I placed online on Monday... they are telling me 3 weeks..!!! WTF? have never waited anywhere near that long, private or business...
 
Two restricted purchases recently - both from dealers, one in province (Ontario) the other from Vancouver. The first completed in just over 2 weeks, and the second (from Van) came through today (just got the email) 15 days. What's wierd about the process is the RCMP completed their checks same day; Vancouver dealer submitted request Nov 28th and it was passed on to the Ontario CFP the same. So the feds are not the problem in this case.

What is really frustrating (and perplexing) is why once the transfer is complete it is then taking the CFO a further week (7 days) to get the registration certificate in the mail, which of course then takes another week or so to arrive. The transfer was completed Dec. 1, but I still don't have the registration which means I can't take it to the range.
... I'm really hoping I am wrong about this, but my understanding is I can't transport to the range (despite having the new RPAL and attached ATT) without the registration doc, right?

There is an election coming up and I think letters to the Minister of Community Safety and Correcitonal Services demading to know why it is taking so long for the CFO to meet its service mandate. I think the same to the Ontario Ombudsmen make help as well.
 
NEW RECORD....I sold a fellow CGN two pistols....Called RCMP to initiate transfer from me in Ontario to buyer in B.C. on Monday December 11 2017 9:38a.m. Authorization to transfer came in by email on Tuesday December 12 12.11 p.m. ....WOW...I can only hope that this is the beginning of a new trend

I've heard 1-3 day transfers in BC are the norm (so the dealer I bought from says anyway).
The BC buyer means BC CFO which seems to be a whole world of difference in terms of service compared to Ontario.

I do. The last transfer came through Dec. 1 (email) but I still don't have the registration document which is ent by snail mail. It's my understanding I can't transport the firearm without this.
 
I'm going on 4 full weeks now! Transfer accepted Nov.14th. I called them today and they said it was approved on Dec. 7th. I requested an email too. The guy on the line said, "no, no request for an email on the ticket". WTF!?!? This is ridiculous! I can't believe there's nothing we can do about it.

Its not a new trend. BC has always been fast. When you do a province to province transfer its the CFO of the buyer that processes the transfer. Guns get to leave Ontario on the fast train, but guns coming in or moving around internally are on foot.

I think you're on to something.
I got the registration certificate in the mail on Nov 30, and it had a transfer approval date of Nov 18, so in my case the RCMP did their thing in 2.5 weeks. It then took the Ontario CFO almost a month (Dec 11) to give their approval. Something isn't right there.
