Operation: Brno single-shot STOCK Rescue !!

A super sweet looking rifle, sporting some very nice walnut. The bluing looks great. So does the moose.

Thanks. I chose to shoot a small moose on the tuesday of the hunt as they were calling for heavy rain and wind for the rest of the week. They were right. I got delayed getting home as the ferry was cancelled for.my sat night crossing.

After chewing on a couple 60”+ moose I’ll take a small one 10/10 times.

Great rifle! Only thing I’d do is ditch the sight hood

Isn't that an aperture front sight? I think it's a great looking set-up. Chris really out did himself on that one.

I like moose best mixed with pork and spicy seasoning made into sausages. Same goes with venison.

Agree on the moose .... It was the best moose I've ever eaten and we ate the whole thing. As for the hood, I kinda like that hood with that style of sight.

I was very pleased with it but Chris can do much higher grade of custom work if the client specifies it. I really wanted to keep it at a working grade without all the other bells and whistles.

I did make sausage and corned the brisket.

Just an update, Chris is building me a custom forestock. There just was too little meat on the factory forestock after re-checkering, and it was too narrow and too long. The new one will mimic what Hagn/Martini uses on their single shots. Very excited to turn a lemon into lemonade.

<LOL> ..... Sounds like it went from a low key mod upgrade to a big ticket money pit. :)

It will be nice when it's done.

Well, yes, it has. :). It will be what it should have been when it rolled off the factory floor. Maybe I should send it to CZ so that they can do another production run: "Brno Effect American Special Addition". They can offer them in 308, 6.5CM and 243. Though I doubt we'll ever see polished blued metal and those quality iron sights, and a test target that actually shows it was test fired for accuracy.

One in 7x57R would be cool, but a slow seller here in NA.

;)Pardon the slight detour, but some time back I picked up a Brno OU combo gun in 7x57R & 12ga. Ideal for here on the 'wet coast' walking old skid roads in river bottem areas on wet/windy days where you're just as likely to run into a Ruff Grouse as a Blacktail Deer.

Those are nice working guns. Well built. I had one too, but I just never had the need for it here in S. Ontario. It was more of a novelty to me.
