Seems to me those were your words.

Man, you are thick today...Here, i will type slowly...

I have shot a HP-9
I have shot a Express
I have shot a 870 Wingmaster

Therefore my comments have relevence to the discussion.

I have not shot a Mdl 31, which were discontinued in 1949, therfore I cannot honestly say if it is better or worse than anything else.

If you have not shot a HP-9 and the Express you cannot compare one ot the other, and make a statement that one is better than the tother.. And it appears as if you have not used one.

I have shot wingmasters I own an 870 3 1/2" SPS which I use for turkey and Deer. I own two Mod. 31 Rem's and two model 12 Win's I have handled and shot the Norinco. If this thing is so great why do guy's buy them and immediately replace Norinco parts with Rem.870 parts?

Sure, sure....

I imagine they are adding on extras for th emost part. The only Rem part I have on mine is a 26" barrel wiht choke tubes that I added, so I coudl hav 14" and full lenght.

Speaking From My Experience...

I have compared Norinco shotguns to my Express and I am more confident with the 870 Express. The receiver on the Norinco is nicer and it has a better finish. Norinco's trigger guard/plate is metal and that is another plus. That ends the Norinco 'pro' list unless you bought the one with the 14" barrel.

All of the internal parts in the Remington are better made. Even the Express' internal pieces, which are powdered metal castings, are better made than Norinco's rough machined steel parts.

In my mind, one big 'con' for Norincos is the "MADE IN CHINA" and "EXPORTED BY NORINCO" stamps. I don't care if any Chinese product is better made or less expensive, the fact it's from China makes me think 'cheap.'

With that said, I have an M-14S and an NP-22. Compared to the originals, price differences are about $1000 and $800, respectively. The difference between an 870 Express 18-1/2" with extension and the Norinco 18-1/2" with no extension is only $100. Less without the extension. The Norinco will not accept any Remington or Mossberg barrels and has crappier furniture.

That's my 2 cents.

I have no Rem parts in mine, not needed

So what is the combo worth, $$$$ ????

Doug, I saw the ad you're talking about, and I think that's a fair asking price, you won't get a better deal on any shotgun with two barrels. go for it. :)

I have two 14" ones.

Nice guns, well made. The externals seems a little nicer than the Express.

I just took mine apart and gave them a good cleaning and they are now very smooth.

One is for sale in the EE now with a Knoxx SpecOps stock.

This pic is before the Knoxx stock was added. The other one is getting a Houge 12" LOP stock.

Thanks for all the opinions, folks.

The guy that wanted a combo gun decided he did not want a Chinese gun, and I just found out that the seller has sold the gun.

And NOT to me.....:p

FWIW, the Express guns vary alot, mostly depending on year of manufacture. The early ones have a much rougher receiver exterior but the internals are better an they have a metal trigger guard without the J lock.

Recent guns are nicer outside, rougher inside and have a plastic trigger with J lock.

The newest guns I have sene still have plastic TG's, but no J lock, nicely finished blasted and blued exterior with internals somewhere in between the other two mentioned types.

The extreior mill marks don't mother me, so I generally prefer the early Express 3" mag guns as I hate plastic trigger guards. (There's no place for tupperware on an 870 IMHO).

A bit late but I got a chance to check out the Norinco HP9s last week, overall they were fairly nice machines.
One difference between the Norinco and the Express is that it appears the HP9s are copies of the older style 870 models; the shell carrier did not have the anti-jam cuts and I suspect (but did not take it apart to confirm) that the bolt, bolt carrier and rail cuts are of the older style and not the newer anti-jam configuration.
Has anyone installed a Remington anti-jam kit into a Norinco?
Cheers

They come with Fixed Cylinder bore.

I'm getting my HP-9 barrel threaded for screw in Rem chokes. :D

I even shot some trap with it today...I'm told by others that it was loud. :D

3" slugs make for quite the muzzle flash.
The Knoxx spec ops stock worked brilliantly BTW.

Watched Geologist with his 14” clone of a 870 make short work of many clay pigeons on Friday. Very nice gun, if I was an 870 guy I would buy one.
