Optics Review for the newer Precision Shooter

No kidding, Vortex, Burris, Minox, Kahles etc. Bushnell and Sightron are two brands I definitely see less of.
Certainly lots of options in the scope market.

Great Review, I agree with pretty much all of your points, I as well started off buying cheap 30$-100$ scopes assuming some where made in the same factory (and some are in Fact) i have reviewed over 70 optics on my personal youtube channel. what I have found is the obvious; at less than 200$ glass is going to be meh, ok up to 200M (most of the time regardless of brand) and adjustments is faily consistent, but generally limited to 50moa. i didd test many no nam scoeps on the channel strting with .22L then 223 then 308 and they all (with a few exceptions) survived now i didn't test them for more than 50 round of 168GN 308 so clearly i cannot attest to duarbility on larger calibers. now as for chinese companies around 300 and up thats really where their quality start to show: consistancy in tracking better glass (generally good up to 400 ish)/ anyway great review cheers!

Once you start looking at the better stuff, you just cringe, moan, and hand over the card, because once you've used it, you won't give it up. So many different brands out there now, with different build levels, you really have to do some homework before buying to understand what is what. There are some really decent scopes being built on the Japanese LOW chassis, by more and more companies, but, it's like buying shoes with some of the feature variances they have, you have to be careful reading the specs and reviews and when they were done, many have upgraded their stuff, fixed stuff that people were complaining about in the last 5-6 yrs. Some were upgraded a couple or three times, so be careful on which version you may actually see on a used one, not that they were bad, just not as well thought out as they could have easily been. With a bunch of them these days, it just comes down to which version has which grade of glass from Europe or Japan, even China, and the reticle choices, they are pretty much all good products. And some of the ones made in China, have stepped up their game on the products as well. Pretty happy with a gen2 Delta Stryker, just ordered a Tract Toric to see how that works out, little heavy, but, I can probably live with that, if it works like it is supposed to.

Amazing thread, thank you so much for sharing.

Silly question perhaps, but is there such a thing as group buy, or perhaps discount sales, on optics? I've only been checking for the last 3 months but am yet to see any significant sales here in Canada. In US I see them almost every time I look up a scope.

That doesn't exist here. The closest thing I've seen, and you are in luck it is active, is the Apex Rival pre-sale.
