The Shadow is slightly better, but a little more finicky owing to it's tighter tolerances.
Yup, it can get picky about OAL.

I'm not sure if field stripping should ever need to be a metric in choosing a handgun.
i'm not saying it should be. but field stripping a sig 22X is as easy as it gets and easier than the cz. just clarifying because that post made it sound like the opposite.
Difficult would be more like some .22 pistols out there, like the Ruger Mark series. VERY fiddly!
+1. I've got both and most likely you will too eventually.Sig p226 is amazing but cz75 shadow in on another level.
I own a made in Germany P226 and a CZ Shadow. The CZ was my first handgun, the one I shoot the best and is still stock. The Sig P226 is a good gun, no question about it but I am not as accurate with it. Modifications or features I recommend for the P226 are a short reset trigger, a lighter hammer spring and the E2 grips. But to be honest, after all those modifications, I am still more accurate with the CZ.
Sig P226 after mods VS CZ Shadow:
Trigger pull = CZ
Trigger reset = Sig
Sights = CZ
Grip = CZ
Mag release = both
Slide removal = Sig
Fit and finish = Sig
Sig annoyances = I have to change my grip on the gun or my right thumb prevents the slide from locking back because of the location of the slide lever.
CZ annoyances = The slide lever is too far forward and out of reach.
If you need mags for a Sig, I recommend Mec-Gar over the Sig brand.
Hope this helps and good luck.
If you have small to medium mitts, the P226 will cause you grief.
small hands are fine with E2 grips
Do the grips alone make that big of a difference or is the ``short`` trigger required as well..............................now I`m curious![]()
That is what i gather. I just picked up my first Ruger Mark (a MkII target with a 6 7/8 barrel) and have been watching you tube videos on how to break it down. definitely a little quirky.
