By the way, Sig will also be making a "tactical" version of the P239 with extended threaded barrel in the near future. I was told that this model will be available in Canada.
WOW! This is the first I've heard about this. Can hardly wait! 239 is one of the guns that has been on my "try to get, if at all possible" list for about a year now. I will be there, cash in hand, when they show up.
The 250 looks very interesting, there are probably very few people that have shot them up here in Canada right now. The only real rexperience with these is going to be people who have shot them in the U.S. or maybe a couple other places. It looks very interesting. I will be very interested to try it when they show up. The major question mark in my mind is, what will the trigger be like. It seems that it is a completely different trigger from anything else SIG has put out before.
I like the GLOCK 19. A friend of mine has one with the Bar-Sto barel and it shoots quite well. I like the feel of it quite a bit better than the GLOCK 17 I used to have - and the aftermarket barrels really seem to tighten things up a bit.
My girlfriend and I have two 229's in 9mm. These are my favorite guns out of anything I have ever shot (which is a lot). You simply cannot go wrong with a 229, IMHO. It has gotten to the point now where I pretty much need to justify (to myself) buying anything other than a 229 - just because I can shoot them so much better than other guns.
The advice about the 229 being very similar to the 226 is valid. Why not try a GLOCK? But then again, if you are a total SIGnut... why not get another piece of the classic line-up?
The GLOCK 19 and the SIG 229 are two absolute can't miss classics. Get them both if at all possible. SIG 250 is still a bit of a wildcard in my mind, but I don't think many of us are expecting it to completely suck. It really comes down to which one has the most "must... have... this..." factor for you.
