Hey all, I was looking at purchasing a Sig P229 or Glock 19 with the extended barrels and saw that Questar will be bringing in the camo pattern Sig P250's with the extended threaded barrels and have now addeed that to the equation.

Any input on any of these guns would be greatly appreciated. I have a Sig P226, but have never owned a Glock.

What have people heard about the Sig P250?

Thanks in advance

I've shot a 229 and I own a Glock 19.
The Sig is by far heavier and has a longer trigger reach. The Glock fits me better.
Glock mags are cheaper and easier to get too.
Either one is not as ugly with the extended barrel as some guns.

P229 is a great gun but it's not that much different from the P226, which you already own. Go for the P250.

By the way, Sig will also be making a "tactical" version of the P239 with extended threaded barrel in the near future. I was told that this model will be available in Canada. I'm not sure when it is expected to be available, but if you are patient, this would be the gun to get.

have a 229, but dont really see much point in you getting one if you already have a 226 (i bought it because smaller grip fit me better)

i dont like glocks (at all) so the 250 gets my vote

I have a Sig P229 and have shot a P226 and the Glock.

For me, I still like the feel of the Sigs better, the Glocks are a bit more "jumpy" for me. Maybe just the way I shoot.

I have three 226's and a 229 in 9MM...prefer the 'feel' of the 229.
I have three Glock 9MM models...34, 17 and 19...and yes, I prefer the 19.
The more compact models seem to agree with me more...personal preference.
That's the whole point of this exercise...personal preference.
I always recommend that everyone should own a Glock...I happen to like them the best....simple, effective, cheap to own, service and operate.
I would go with the G19 for the reasons stated.
I will probably get a 250 when they arrive, as I usually have to own every kind of classic and 'new kid on the block' at least once.
I've had a lot of Beretta's over the years...currently don't own any!
I don't think anyone can say that they like/dislike any particular pistol without having a chance to shoot it for awhile.
If you can't afford to buy new...buy 'pre-enjoyed', and sell 'em if they don't 'set your pants on fire'.You won't lose your shirt and it keeps these units in 'circulation' for others to trial, fall in love with and keep, or else throw 'em back in the pool.
I could have afforded to have kept all of the zillions of guns I've had over the years, but can't justify keeping anything that I don't continue to enjoy shooting.

Where this CAMO PATTERN came from

WOW! This is the first I've heard about this. Can hardly wait! 239 is one of the guns that has been on my "try to get, if at all possible" list for about a year now. I will be there, cash in hand, when they show up.

The 250 looks very interesting, there are probably very few people that have shot them up here in Canada right now. The only real rexperience with these is going to be people who have shot them in the U.S. or maybe a couple other places. It looks very interesting. I will be very interested to try it when they show up. The major question mark in my mind is, what will the trigger be like. It seems that it is a completely different trigger from anything else SIG has put out before.

I like the GLOCK 19. A friend of mine has one with the Bar-Sto barel and it shoots quite well. I like the feel of it quite a bit better than the GLOCK 17 I used to have - and the aftermarket barrels really seem to tighten things up a bit.

My girlfriend and I have two 229's in 9mm. These are my favorite guns out of anything I have ever shot (which is a lot). You simply cannot go wrong with a 229, IMHO. It has gotten to the point now where I pretty much need to justify (to myself) buying anything other than a 229 - just because I can shoot them so much better than other guns.

The advice about the 229 being very similar to the 226 is valid. Why not try a GLOCK? But then again, if you are a total SIGnut... why not get another piece of the classic line-up?

The GLOCK 19 and the SIG 229 are two absolute can't miss classics. Get them both if at all possible. SIG 250 is still a bit of a wildcard in my mind, but I don't think many of us are expecting it to completely suck. It really comes down to which one has the most "must... have... this..." factor for you.

Id heard SIG was going to make a threaded P239...I really hope it will be avaiable here!

Thanks for the input. It will probably be either the P229 or the Glock 19, which ever strikes my fancy.

I will have to wait and see what the reviews of the P250 are like, but I do like the digital camo.
