April 23rd: RCMP received my app.
May 13th: Me and Ref#1 called, they leaved a msg to Ref #2
May 15th: Ref #2 called them back
Mai 21st: License Issued
June 1st: Just received my RPAL :D

Stats:
From their reception day to my door: 38 days
From my exam to the RPAL to my door: 65 days

Now... lets shop ;) Well, shooting range first, then shopping :)

I don't remember extacly when my application was received. Sometime first week of May. Went into system on May 14th.

I got called yesterday and so did one of my references, they left message and my reference called back. 2nd reference, no idea if they called or not but I just gave my second reference all the info needed to contact CFC and will call soon.

I think I'm on my way shortly! :) PAL/RPAL

BTW, my reference commented to interviewer at the end, "had I said 'yes' to any of the questions, he (me) would not my friend"... Heard slight chuckle on other end of phone. hehe

Update: My 2nd reference called in 2 hours ago. Now waiting for status to update and hasn't yet. :-(

I applied for PAL and RPAL all in one shot. From the day I sent away my app at the post office to the day I got my license in hand was 51 days. The wait felt like an eternity!

Application Received on: 2009/05/13

Finally! :)

WOOT

"Current Status: Your application has been processed and your licence has been issued. If you have not received your licence within 2 weeks please contact the Canada Firearms Centre Toll Free number. (1-800 731-4000)"

My application was received on May 5th.

Finally is RIGHT! Mine was received on May 14. I got called yesterday and so did my one of my references... I got my other reference to call in today.

Waiting to see if my status will change to 'processed and your licence issued'.

Got my papers back from the CFO in 8 business days and sent in the application today. We'll see how long it takes in total.

Just checked today online and I'm not in the system yet. Its been 7 days...although I mailed it on a Wednesday, lol. Hopefully it got to the processing center alright.

Hah, don't get your hopes up. They received my application May 15 and only today did it show up in the system! I don't understand the point of a status checker that is only updated 3 weeks after the fact.

I'm in the same boat

They got my application around the same time you got yours ... only I'm not in the system yet. :(

I called the CFC about my application today, though ... so hopefully, they'll get right on it.

My application showed up as recieved on May 14th. Took around 2 weeks to see it in their system.

Me and references contacted earlier this week. I see absolutely no reason why I should get denied or delayed. Status has not changed to processed and mailed out yet. Doh! PAL/RPAL

Woah... only eight days

Licence was issued last Thursday the 28th. I totally expected to wait two weeks (or more) but instead found my self grinning while holding my PAL/rPAL today:D I read on here that they're printed on Thursdays but never expected it to make it for that day and be in the mail on Monday. Who says miracles don't happen? ;)

And, 17 days later ...

They got my application around the same time you got yours ... only I'm not in the system yet. :(

... my "application has completed initial processing"!

I can't help but think it was my phone call yesterday that got me in the system. :D

When I call them they tell me they have no way to know if they got my app or not until it is entered into the system because they have so many. Obviously this is bulls**t. What are you all saying to them to get them to physically look for the app to see if it arrived? What should I ask when I call? And which number should I be calling? I've been calling 1 800 731-4000

I guess only about a week to a week and a half after my regy'd mail said it got there and it still wouldn't show up in the search eh? I punched my name in the website and it didn't even find my name.

They basically scan in the documents and then key in the data for each field to the system, knowing the gubment they are using some clunky and expensive that is slow at scanning and processing... Maybe they are using OMR/ICR scanning capabilities to grab check boxes and handwriting but I doubt it.
