PAL Wait Time

Hey anyone experienced this signed into the individual web services to check application status it says my licenses have been processed and issued if I don't receive the card in 2 weeks to call but if I check through myCFP it's sayings application successfully submitted and also both are showing 2 different application numbers and also never received an email from rcmp

Completed my non-restricted course on Sunday, submitted application online on Monday... Now is the waiting game with what looks like to be a standard waiting message "We have completed the initial review of your firearms licence application". Hopefully not too long of a wait!

thats normal. myCFP wont updated after your application is submitted.

they right now got an issue with one of their printers and there the federal strike. good luck with getting the plastic card.
 
Hi there,

Just created an account to post my approval timeline here in case it comes in useful as a reference for someone else.

Quebec resident applying for an RPAL. No criminal record but had a search warrant served at my home in 2021 due to someone making a false report.

CSFC course passed Dec. 11th 2022
CRFSC course passed Jan 21st 2023
Application sent online Jan 30th 2023
Status changed to approved and processed on April 19th 2023

Still waiting for the card, but I called them and got my card number so that I can reserve some stuff with retailers while I wait.
Hope everyone here that's still waiting gets their stuff soon!

With the current strike, there's obviously going to be a backlog, right? You think they'll get back to the office and just process applications super slowly, or you think they'll put some scoot in their boot to knock the paper pile down quicker?

Courses passed April 16
Applications to be received in NB may 1 (sent with tracking)
Correction...to be received on may 2 due to labour disruptions..ugh

Course completed April 23 2022
Application recieved June 13 2022

On March 9 2023 I recieved this update: We have completed the initial review of your firearms licence application. If additional information is required, you will be contacted. Please check the status again at a later date.

Just over the 365 day mark now. �� Lucky me.
I have little to no faith in government workers and this is a great example why!

Oh but keep honking your horn in support of the people on strike! Let's praise their greed and pay them all even more money! While the rest of us fight over the scraps.

Don't give them anymore of our money!!
 
Here’s my current timing (in Ontario):

CFSC completed - March 25
Certified test results received from FSESO - April 24
PAL application submitted online - April 25
Reference checks and photo guarantor check completed, initial review completed and credit card charged - April 26
PAL issued - some distant point in the future….

Wow!! I just sent mine in through tracked mail, but now I'm wishing I did it online. Our instructor said it was best to mail it in. That is a really quick turnaround time. Congrats! 👍

My PAL/RPAL applications were received today. No action on the credit card yet...lol. ������
 
Called the Ontario cfo yesterday it’s been 1 year waited was told they’re will send my application to my assigned officer again for another review it will take approximately 2 months so 1 year and 2 months I’m gonna keep waiting 😭😭
 
Just saw on RCMP site my licence has been issued and in the mail. Sent it January. I emailed my chief firearms officer last week and got it this week. Not sure if they helped or just coincidence.

I spoke to you before, 1 year and 2 months is by no means a short time, but with an old peace bond, it may very well take 2 years, I also have old peace bond.

I am at 1 year and 1 month.
 
Hi everyone, this is my first post on this forum so I thought my initial post would be about my PAL status.

I am in Ontario FYI.

Took course March 18
Received stamped paperwork from CFO on April 6
Filed Online on April 7
My two references both got the links immediately and verified everything on April 7
Credit Card was charged April 7

Check this morning (May 5) and my PAL has been issued.
 
They got my application on 03/16/2023 and went instantly through initial processing.
Checked every day today (05/05/2023) got the approval and in the mail status.
50 days total time, 38 if you take out the 12 days of strike.

Things seem to be speeding up. I am 48 days total from the day I sat in the PAL course to the confirmation that my card is in the mail.
 
Ontario here. Sent in my PAL application by snail mail in late November and only got the email that I've been approved yesterday after both calling and emailing the CFO. I was told on the phone that there's a 6 month delay that they're still catching up and to expect it June. Then I got an email the next day saying I've been approved and the card will be mailed out to me within 2 to 4 weeks. No references were contacted. Seems to be a lot of different experiences out there in getting the PAL.
 
Hi guys I just want your opinion I’m going through so much to get this pal but situations just keep occurring in my life that I think I may never be able to get it basically I got a careless driving ticket last year because I was involved in a car accident and I was at fault by law and the officer didn’t officially activate the accident report until today can anyone please tell me if this will affect my pal application as I don’t know what they next steps are will it show that I was involved in a car collision and that I was at fault when they check my application again on top of all the other occurrence with police that I had please somebody respond as soon as possible thank you

A careless driving conviction will not affect your PAL application.
 
Submitted my online application on April 21st. Credit card charged immediately. Sure hope its a quick process for me as i have zero previous interaction with law enforcement other than simple traffic infractions. Hoping to be able to start plinking this summer
