Now just waiting for it to arrive in the mail.
Same, still waiting for the mail.

Hi all fellow members it’s me again. It’s been more than 2 years since I submitted my application on June 6 2022. A couple of months ago I received a medical form from my firearms officer Nadine Teeft . My doctor filled it out and had no concerns and now I’m still waiting I don’t even know if I would get it. A fellow member mentioned a writ of Madumus forcing the government to do their job. But why should I have to take it that far. More than 2 years is clearly enough to see if I am a bad guy or not.

BC here, just got my non-restricted PAL.

Applied in early April, got a letter back requesting a different photo in May, then got my PAL in the mail last week. Much quicker process than I had imagined, only about 3 months in total, although the estimate I was given by my course instructor was 90 days, so he was pretty much bang-on. I've heard applications taking 6+ months to multiple years so maybe I got lucky.

Neither myself nor either of my 2 references were called apparently, which is strange, but I had 2 senior RCMP officers as my references so I'm not sure if that made a difference.

Have a question , not related to PAL time: I hear some guys get the CFSC/CRFS results the same day and they use them for PAL application. for me it took 6 weeks to receive the CFO stamped copies to use them for PAL. (I got my training in ON, FSESO)

I was hoping for the same with the recent replies in here. There seems to be a fair amount of variance from person to person.

I just hit 30 days since submission, will wait another week or two before calling.

So I did my course and passed the test July 2023 in Ontario, submitted all my paperwork in August 2023, didn't hear anything until I called in November 2023 and they told me I needed medical forms filled by my doctor, got them a few days later and my doc submitted them after the appointment. Didn't hear anything until February 2024 when they said my card should be mailed in 28 days. Well it's been 5 months since then and nothing yet, been calling the CFO-Ontario for the past 2 weeks and I keep getting the recorded "Our offices are closed, try again later, we can't recieve voicemails."

Kind of at a loss here, seems like I just threw $400 down the drain to some faceless government official.

Submitted application (+ signatures): May 15
Got license in mail: July 3 (49 days)

The site still shows the application in the same state as it was after submission (“Submitted”). From the site I could not say whether the application was processed or not.

Congrats brother!!! I just called today. It was 31 day mark since online application submitted (May 11th 2024). The lady on the phone said please wait 5 minutes for her to do quick background check and approve the license. Few minutes later she said the license is issued. 31 days since the application submission is crazy!

New to the forum and looking to engage in order to open up access to the EE. Figured I'd put my experience in here its about 6 months stale but still. BC, Course late November, application submitted within 24 hrs of test. All references signed within a week-ten days, PAL arrived first week of Jan, right after all the sales.

If you are looking to get your pal or doing your research and still reading this: when applying, be diligent, double check all the details on the form before you submit. Check with your references and ensure they're cool with being asked to speak for you when it comes to firearms. At least you've done what you can to make it as easy as possible for the app to be processed and not end up at the wrong end of queue.

New member here, and an Ontario resident.
I completed my PAL/RPAL application using the online platform. Application was submitted, along with acknowledgement from all of my references, on June 19 (2024). It was processed with initial review on June 20. Online status of application was updated indicating that the application was approved and the licence have been issued; this is on point with the 28 day waiting period. I am now eagerly waiting for the mail to arrive. Will provide update once received.

Did your PAL get delivered via registered mail?

Application has been process and license issued on July 19th

I did email the CFO a few days prior. I was responded to on the 19th that it had been approved so I do believe it helped
